Bowl outlook after stunning OSU

Been looking at Bowl Projections from various sources along with conference records and matchups this weekend. OK, we all know what is going to take place on Saturday in AA, the Victors will play loud and often, Michigan will stun OSU leaving the entire country shocked and searching for answers.

If Iowa beats Minnesota which I have to believe is somewhat likely after their backup QB showed some competence last week, Michigan could land in the Insight bowl against Texas Tech... not to bad, right.

Alright, say Michigan State loses to Penn State, which against I have to believe is likely, Michigan could be in a four way tie with MSU, Northwestern and Minnesota and could project into the "friggin" Champs Sports Bowl or Alamo Bowl against the likes of NC or Oklahoma for god sake. If I am saying things that many have already contemplated, forgive me, but I am shocked that a victory over OSU could mean the difference between no bowl and possibly a pretty good bowl. This game is even more one-sided than I thought in terms of inspiration to win, I thought Michigan was playing for AT BEST, a matchup against like Temple in the Hot & Ready Bowl.

Now officially very pumped for Saturday. (But still trying not to be)

...if they win. Well maybe my neighbor's first born. Upsets happen all the time in college football and I love my future lil' Wolverine.

But in terms of bowl projections, if Michigan wins, they would probably end up in the Alamo or Champs Sports Bowl. Those folks in San Antonio and Orlando like Michigan and despite all the RRod critics, I believe we will travel very well if we beat OSU. Plus, it's easier to sell tix to an Oklahoma-Michigan game, as opposed to Oklahoma-Northwestern.

I'm still not pumped for Saturday. But if we win, I will be here Saturday evening to post about how much playing time Shoelaces will get with the extra bowl practices.

I would no doubt root for M, but God help us if we did have to play against that texas tech offense. Mike Leach would be licking his chops for a month thinking about what he could do to our linebackers and secondary.

Should we win, which I pray to Yost, Crisler and Schembechler we will, our most likely destinations would be either the Insight or Chammps Bowls. The only way we could get into the Alamo Bowl is with a win and a Northwestern loss and that invite is not guarenteed.

The upshot that would come from a Meeechigan victory is that there is a greater chance that MSU would play in the "Mike Illitch 5 Dollar Hot 'N' Ready Cheese and Sauce on Cardboard Memorial Football Contest."

is very important this year. True, OSU is a huge game and Michigan needs to win to get into a bowl, but a second straight year without a bowl game will make the kitchen pretty hot for Rodriguez. Playing Oklahoma or Texas Tech in a bowl game would be very important for the program, it would not just be practice.
