With the Dr. Phillips kids likely not able to catch any of our regulard season games, are we allowed to to use our bowl games as official visits?? May not be too fair to schools that don't make it to bowls so I'm sure the NCAA doesn't allow it, but I'm not positive on this.
Playing in Florida for a bowl would solve this since all the Florida kids we're recruiting could take a cheap unofficial trip and watch us trounce our opponent in a bowl game.

official recruiting can only be executed at a home game in order to control the flow of recruitment. if they allowed it at away games the lower schools would be screwed because schools like Alabama or USC would fly recruits to each of their games, etc
What about the Alabama game in 2012?
That would definately bring the excitement level to the recruits and I'm sure can make recruits commit on the spot.

I'm sure they have caught some of their games seeing as how they are normally nationally televised, not only regionally broadcasted. They want to see the campus and how the team interacts with it.

So many recruits report
that seeing Ann Arbor was a surprise, either that it didn't look like the abandoned neighborhoods of Detroit they'd expected, or that it was like a small town (in a positive way), besides the obvious of it simply being beautiful. And to see the facilities (practicing, playing and living and studying), the academic support (some may only say that to please the parents, but doesn't hurt if the parents approve), the "feeling" of the campus and potential fellow students... That's something they can't see on TV. How many times do we hear, "If we could only get this guy on campus..."

They definitely can't use it as an official, but for guys willing to pay their own way, I'm sure a recruit could hang with the team as if it were a visit. Since the bowl will likely be in Tempe, this would be good for Hobbi and any other AZ recruits from 2011 or 2012.

I thought that the home team in a neutral game could have official visits. I heard somewhere a few years ago that Oklahome had some visits for the Red River Shootout w/ Texas. This could be crucial in 2012 when we face and defeat Bama (if we are the home team).
Recruits normally want to see where they will spend the next 3-5 years of their lives...
or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
