Didn't one of the national prognosticators say we would be 5-7? Muppets for proven-to-be-incorrect prognosticators who said things we hoped wouldn't be true but secretly worried about...
Bowl Game: Open Thread
Their model clearly undervalued Gallon...
EDIT: Boy, this looks super-stupid not in response to a post that says Football Outsiders. But that is what this is meant to respond to.
I mean we really aren't that far off from RR's 2010 team but they at least won 7 games.
There were plenty right here on this site arguing that the PSU loss would surely lead to a downward spiral that would end with us 5-7. (Never mind that Hoke has never lost two regular-season games in a row at Michigan.)
who lost their tiny minds; don't assume they found them this afternoon. . .
I suppose it does set the new doomsday floor at a 6-6 record.
To me 8-4 with losses to Sparty and Ohio is a terrible season. What's sad is that a lot of fans would take that season and make excuses for it. I think that would be fucking awful and if don't see it as much better than 6-6
It would be two wins better.
This team is not the team you are hoping for. Too inconsistent (probably due to youth).
But I'm not selling my Michigan stock. I'm in for the long haul.
I'll simply try to enjoy watching the team as they improve over the rest of the season.
I'd say getting spooked at home by a bad Indiana team counts as, well, certainly not upward.
Sponsored by the Toilet Store... as seen on Anchorman
Music City so I can make the trip... Don't care if it is ACC/SEC... Make it happen
We are still going to the Texas Bowl to play Texas probably.
on the longhorn network
As a current Houston resident, in lieu of the BCS or the Rose, the Texas Bowl would be awesome. Random Florida Bowl seems like what we always get, even at 7-5.
thread obviously will lead to only positive comments made by this paticular community. Wondering if we can make TWIS with this win.
If we score that much again next game, I promise we will win.
Our biggest competition in the Leaders division is a Nebraska team who has had just as many defensive issues as we have, and a Michigan State team who scored one touchdown against Purdue. Step off the ledge.
MSU can keep whatever incarnation of our offense that shows up that day in check. I'm no longer 100% confident our defense can keep MSU's offense to it's season averages. I am rightfully worried about Nov. 2nd.
I was after last week, but seeing their overall offensive ineptitude against one of the worst B1G teams in recent memory, I don't see too much of an issue. We'll win something like 17-9.
Put 28 on that defense.
Michigan offence is a lot better.
Their O isn't very good but they have a stout D. Dantonio puts a lot of focus on the MI game, hopefully these next two weeks give us time to put some wrinkles in.
We're Rose Bowl Bound. The world will be shocked but this is coming this season folks.
Ha! I'd love to see us make it to the Rose Bowl, but I'd hate to see what we'd do against the top tier of the PAC 12(?).
I think we make it to the B1G Championship Game since the Legends is a weak division. I don't know if we have what it takes to win that and make the Rose Bowl...
The fact that this thread has been posted is illustrative of the condition of the program. This is Michigan. The 6 wins threshold should be inconsequential.
Clearly we are in dire straights as a program because a random user of a random Michigan blog posted a thread congratulating the team on being bowl eligible. Does that sum up the situation nicely?
Second time this season my DVR had an error while recording a michigan game on btn. I wanna pull my hair out. Can you watch a replay of the game in btn.com?
You could simply watch a replay of this game as an alternative-similar absurdity took place.
Watching this game. And unfortunately I think we aren't too off from our 2010 version. Hokes teams have regressed.
Look back at the 2010 game and how utterly clueless our D was in those games. They weren't world beaters today but it was nowhere near the 2010 shitshow.
Similar game for sure, but this team is leaps an bounds better ban the 2010 team
It's good that you already know the outcome. Your blood pressure will thank you.
You can watch the replay on btn2go.com.
We'll have to beat Ohio State twice to get to the Rose Bowl. Guh.
Win the next four, lose to OSU would mean 6-2 with the tiebreaker against everyone in the division. If the winner of MSU/Nebraska lost at least one other game, Michigan would win the division.
and 2-1 versus @NW, @Iowa, and OSU would likely put us in Indianapolis.
Nebraska, the host of the MSU/Nebraska game, is likely to lose one outside of the MSU game.
And for some reason, "Sparty, Si!" doesn't come to mind.

I don't know what bowl we're going to get... But I know I'll get to watch these boys play in late December or early January.
Come on...let's not be like that. "Well at least we are bowl eligible." Terrible way to think. This is Michigan.
Someone woke up from cryogenic slumber
...when they're playng to their potential, that's where they should be. I'm not lowering my expectations just because they've shit the bed since the ND game.
the next day. We gotta win the day and keep improving daily. Bowl game to far away with a rough schedule ahead.
I sit back and imagine the pain Ron English feels every Saturday.
Well the only 2 ways I consider attending (which would still be tough to work out) would be if the bowl was before dec 26 or on jan 4/5 as I have tix for gli, alumni and winter classic.
on this planet would want to see this team play in the Rose Bowl. What an absolute mauling that would be.
Stanford, Oregon, UCLA would kill this team.
Why wouldn't a Michigan fan want to see Michigan play in the Rose Bowl?
I remember a lot of people saying that Florida was going to kill Michigan in the Capitol One Bowl after the 2007 season. How'd that work out?
