You know what, the national media might not know it, the stats might not show it. But our starting corners just played a hell of a game! I just heard Chris Fowler picking on Bouboucar. But he's wrong. ND's receivers are the real deal. Bouboucar stopped at least two drives by himself. Great job young man! and you know what, WE FUCKING WON!!!!!!!

I was really impressed with Cissoko and Warren. Did they get beat quite a bit? Yes. But they also were always in the area, and jumped many routes too. Golden Tate and Floyd are just unbelievable talents. To keep up with them at all is amazing.

Those WRs are going to make a lot of CBs look silly this year, and he stayed in there until the end despite no help from the D-line. Shake it off Booboo, go get them the rest of the year.

We didn't get much pressure at all which was considered a key to any type of Michigan victory. Cissoko and Warren were on islands for way too long. I think both corners did an awesome job regardless of ND's passing stats.

BooBoo's gonna have a pretty hefty minus number come UFR, I'm afraid. But he also had a few key breakups.

If some of those holding calls were made, then the pressure might have gotten to Clausen and the CBs wouldn't have been left out there so much. Floyd and Tate are top-notch WRs, but Warren and Cissoko made enough plays for the win. I'll take that any time over +/-

is beyond ridiculous, golden tate is also absurd out there. the fact that warren and cissoko managed to keep those two under 200 yds receiving (EDIT) each with no DL pressure is a win in my book

Um get serious fellas, he got beat like an old drum. Of course they are good wideouts, Floyd has Sunday written all over him, but that is the nature of the beast @ the BCS level. If that was Trent, you'd be flame thrower all over him. That was not an acceptable performance in the slightest. Warren on the other hand, made some nice plays and is on his way to adding to the list of outstanding corners. Bobbie will adjust and come back harder cause that is the nature of the guy, but to suggest he was anything but torched is just M-coloured glasses to the nth. Anyway, why dwell on that aspect, this is coming together and the dark days are behind us, ahead.... BCS baby!!!!!(2011)

Trent was a 5th year senior who never got better. Boo-boo is a sophomore who just played a game that went in the W-column.

He didnt compound the problem by missing tackles after they connected on the the deep outs and comeback routes. Yes they scored a lot and gained a lot of yards throwing at him, but the key of making those few tackles [instead of them breaking them and housing it like last year] and making them work longer to score ultimately could have reduced the total amount of offensive possession that ND could have had.

He gave his best and made some good plays against a tough receiver. But he also got beat pretty solidly on a number of plays. I don't remember any player ever being picked on as much as he was picked on today, so props to him as he kept fighting.
At the end of the day, it was (just barely) enough to get the win. I'm sure he's ecstatic to have this game behind him. After today, the majority of receivers will seem pretty easy for him to cover.

When Cissoko dropped that gift INT from Jimmah, I thought we had NO chance to win and he would end up being the goat. Thankfully, Tate is beyond amazing and saved BC's ass.

he got hammered, and once floyd went down he was still getting hit by ND's 3rd and deeper recievers. buuuuuut, he did just enough.
i thought his worst was the 2nd qtr. stonum's runback was huge, but sending back out the defense right away probably was not ideal. its weird, but it would have maybe been better to send the offense out there than to just take 7 points. we really didnt have trouble moving the ball, and our defense needed a break. that run back really set up a terrible qtr for our defense.
its not boobie's fault we have no depth.
and hey, this was probably his hardest test of the year, and he passed. football is pass/ fail.

I'm going to throw this out there, but there were at least 30 people who called for Cissoko to be pulled during the first half of the CiL. I was sickened by the lack of faith in many of our players.

I heard the same coming from my section in the stadium.
Cissoko played as well as any 5'9" corner can against a 6'3" future NFLer.

exactly. he was right there on many plays and got out jumped by a guy 7 inches taller (i think floyd is 6' 4"). it is a touch matchup for him. also, he got better and the game went on. i'm sure he doesn't think he had a great day, and UFR might show the same, but floyd is going to smoke lots of corners and boo boo will continue to improve.

I have to say that the negativity in the CIL in general was at ridiculously high levels. There were people saying things like "This is the game" when ND was driving at the end of the first half. It got to a point where I had to shut it off because I couldn't take it anymore. And then we ended up winning.
I know we had a rough year last year, but we're a young team and a work in progress, and I wish a few more people could appreciate that and just enjoy the ride this year for what it is. We're not NC material - and you know what? That's okay. There's no need to freak out with every small error we make.

Cissoko isn't a finished product. He has a lot to work on, but he also has quite a bit of skill. Hopefully J.T. Floyd can handle EMU's wide receivers next week so Cissoko can get some rest.

Boubacar may have played respectably given the circumstances (I for one was not terribly impressed, but we won so I'll live), but his recurring post-play behavior was infuriating. On at least a handful of occasions, including a couple plays in the north endzone where he was pretty much beat and Golden Tate just didn't come down with the ball, Boubacar was strutting around with his arms crossed acting like he just pickpocketed Jerry Rice.
Did anyone else see this and/or get a little pissed?

Don't get me wrong, I like our players to have a chip on their shoulder; I also like good plays getting the rest of the D pumped up. But for God's sake, let the other guys on your D tell eveyone how good you are! It's OK to relish a great play, but to draw THAT MUCH attention to yourself repeatedly, while having a mediocre day just looks way bad. I hope the young man continues to grow/mature and proves to us all he's really that good.

I believe if my memory serves me correctly Cissoko was beaten twice for Td's...both times by taller receivers and if I still remember correctly Michael Floyd was one of them..Both were high tosses in the corner of the end zone.

From what I understand, the corners are not allowed to jam at the line in the AAA game, which is what Cissoko did all through HS school I think. Regardless, you need to be able to do whatever the coaches ask of you to be a great CB. Magnus, you've been saying all along that Turner would eventually beat out Cissoko. How long do you think it will be before Turner takes his spot?
