[Boston Terrible Things Open Thread]
Shots have been fired and at least 1 officer has died. There are 2 suspects. One is caught, the other is still at large, but police are expanding the perimeter.
The police and MSP are treating these suspects as the Boston marathon suspects. They are armed with grenades, home-made bombs, and assault weapons.

FWIW LOCAL news on the scene is reporting that the 2 suspects in the MIT/Watertown are linked to the Marathon bombings. One suspect is dead and the other is being pursued.

Police are doing a door to door manhunt for the second suspect. People are being told not to answer the door unless it's clearly police. People are asleep so they aren't going to get this warning. Pray that this doesn't get even worse. If you know anyone in Watertown, warn them now.

Reddit has this on lock, suspect believed to be locked inside an office building and police have him surrounded, they found guns and a knife... Hope those cops are going to be ok, prayers for them.

First of all, there are more of us who are good than there are those who are bad. Don't loose heart.
Secondly, for all those immediately blaming "Muslims" and "Arabs" (fortunately not on this board, but yes, on our public airwaves), go check yourselves.
Thirdly, if your younger kids are getting this information, make sure you talk to them about it. Don't ignore it. Let them know that more people are good and that there are people who help.

I think it appears you've been watching too many "24" reruns or Superman movies. Catching criminals isn't instantaneous in the real world.
Besides, once the idiots were ID'd in the surveillance videos and the photos were distributed by the LE authorities, they caught up with them pretty damn quickly. Unfortunately, they seem to have been determined to take as many people out as possible with them.

I agree with Landry. The want him alive, not dead. They can get a much better idea of why this happened and who else might be involved if he's alive, not so much if dead.
Pretty sure two brothers didn't just wake up on Monday and decided to bomb the Boston Marathon and then strap bombs to themselves.

What an odd way to wake up at 6 AM this morning. Woke up to the radio report from Mike and Mike about today's events. Hopefully they catch the guy responsible for these heinous acts and throw the book at him.
