I think it might be wise to shut down the blog for the rest of the day if we end up losing. It might save a number of people from acting like complete idiots and totally embarrassing themselves. The levels of intoxication, angst, and impotent rage are all reaching critical mass.

Reverse Rich Rod.  I have honestly never seen such bad playcalling in my life.  I would not mind one bit if he did not return next year.

Al Borges cost Michigan the game. That, and the failed 4th down conversion from midfield

Just inexplicable decisions in the 2nd half that cost Michigan the game

too many disappointing performances, most of them by the offense and the play-calling

Ohio is simply bigger and strong than we are on both sides of the ball.  A carry-over of the bullshit recruiting ideals of RR.  Yeah, I said it!

definitely on Borges. My dear God. What a pathetic excuse for an offense in the second half. Maybe not quite time for a hot seat but let's stop putting this staff on an untouchable pedestal. Ridiculous.

Borges lost that game for us. Defense played awesome (what did Braxton Miller really do all game? Not much). Borges went in a shell and didn't do crap in the 2nd half. Awful awful awful

I'm always 100% opposed to these types of threads.

That being said, he lost this game. We had a lead at half and only allowed 6 points in the final 30 minutes. I can't even begin to try and comprehend what was going through his mind. I'm livid.

We have not won any close road games bc our offensive play calling sucks. After a great first half we go conservative and run up the gut multiple times until we shit on ourselves. Thanks Borges now ill have nightmares for a year bc of you.

Honestly I hope that you suck it up and say "yea I fucked up. I should've known that my o line can't move a mouse and been a bit more aggressive on third and 1. Oh btw I let Osu go undefeated. Yea the whole world prolly hates me."

Yea we do. Fuck you man.

I don't understand how you put up 21 on the first half with brilliant play calling and move the ball at will then just decide to revert to every single play and formation that hasn't worked all year for the entire second half.

This one's on Brady Hoke.

He hired Borges and can't rein him in because he's not qualified to call offensive plays.

His defensive "expertice" isn't needed because his DC knows more about coaching a defense than he does.

His only real gametime responsibilities are special teams and clock management. He sucks at clock management and he's stuck in the past with special teams. Whooopdeedoo

The playcalling was inexcusable, let's bring in a guy that everyone in the building knows he's going to fucking run!

it worked once, congrats, you blew your wad, they adjusted, Borges didn't.

I want to give all the credit in the world to the effort from the defense today.

He has failed everywhere he went.  Notice how when OSU noticed we were playing soft on the corners, they would throw quick passes for 5-9 yard gains -- i.e., taking what the defense is giving you.  We failed at running up the middle all day, but Borges/Hoke/Brandon think Michigan football/MANBALL is about imposing your will.  Doing the same thing over and over again when it fails every time is insanity, especially when there are other options.  Dave Brandon got the OC he deserved, and he is seeing the results.  Someone should let him know when his next marketing meeting is over that OSU is not going to be going back to an interim coach anytime soon, and though we have added Maryland and Rutgers to the B1G, this isn't the MWC.   We can do better than an OC that has bounced around for two decades and ended up at SDSU.

For the first time, I agree.  The second half play calling was beyond putrid.  TO's didn't help, but the play calling was some of the worst I've ever seen.  He has to go.  He won't, but he should after that debacle.

Sure the 3rd/4th down calls were awful, but this is Borges blaming is out of hand. He called a great first half, and it's to his credit that he succesfully installed the Fritz package to begin.

You have to look at the entire game not just one half. If we had won most would just be mad but the offense cost us that game , it completely collapsed the 2nd half and we're luck the defense played an awesome game or this would have been a blow out on a RR scale

It seems like Borges outsmarts himself.  The whole Devin at QB, Denard at RB was working well in the 1st half.  In fact tOSU was so focused on the threat of the pass, Denard had that awesome last minute run in before half time.  So Borges seems to assume that Meyer will adjust for it and starts going away from it with actually being forced to.   Then Denard misses a blitz pickup and Borges panics.  That was just so aggravating to me.  Of course Denard misses the blitz pickup, that is the price of using him, he just isn't trained in that area.  You have to accept it and move on, not turtle and go I Form Vincent Smith for the next three drives.

I'm not going to totally bag Al Borges in that he clearly did a good job of testing this out against Iowa and having the package installed for tOSU, as shown by the first half.  The second half though has to be some of the worst adjustments by an OC I've ever seen though.  He just went ahead and crippled our offense.  It seemed like he had a game plan figured out to get around the fact the interior of our line is not that good and suddenly he decides to lean on them for the second half.

Between the Vincent Smith up the gut plays and the whole Denard up the middle (despite the fact he has a known injury and can really only carry in one hand) are just so damn questionable.  Use Smith to pass block and let Denard run in space where he can use his speed and agility to avoid the kind of hits that pop the ball free.  Argh.

I still say Borges gets some time with his big outside WRs and a better offensive line, but the decision making was really question here.

Edit:

The other issue I see with firing is that there is already talk about how there are lots of big name schools looking to hire this year and not that many candidates out there.  That seems to imply some of the better OCs might get promoted a little early.  I'm not sure if this is the ideal year to be on the market.  Off the top of my head I see Loeffler in play and he's resume is that awesome passing spread against Florida in the bowl game, some good work at Temple, and then this year's season at Auburn (ack).  Unless some really good OC somehow gets screwed out of the job by the coaching carousel, I'm not sure if this is a good year to be buying.  As annoying as Borges his (he seems to coach the offense out of a win one or two times a year), this might not be the year to go shopping.

Inexcusible, but I am torn as to whether he should be fired.  No reason to fire him as punishment.  Borges is about to get the horses to do what he wants, and except for the second half today, the play calling has been decent since we went straight West Coast.  On the other hand, today indicted just terrible decision making that would carry over regardless of the situation.

All the talk about Denard and Devin being a 2 headed monster and what could Borges do with those 2 on the field at the same time and Borges chose to sit Denard most of the 2nd half. I'm not saying Denard at QB but WHY have one of the most explosive players in college on the side lines? Why I'm asking questions why have Vincent Smith running power up the middle when nobody has ran up the middle with success all year?

The team didn't make it easy on Borges with all the turn overs in the 2nd half but come on . I'm tired of hearing Borges talk "I'm not trying to put square pegs in round holes" 9 and then tries to have Denard be Joe Montana , " We want to have our best 11 on the field" While one of the best players in the country sits on the sides lines most of the 2nd half. I'm not only gonna question Borges but I'm calling out Hoke for not being a head coach and not stepping up and doing something.

I don't see why any playmakers would commit to this offense. Seriously fire Al Borges. I'm starting to think Last year was a fluke season and Greg Mattison might be the only saving grace of this entire staff ( save recruiting).

Fire his fat ass! He decides to call brilliant game against fucking Iowa! Seriously you are gonna waste everything against POS team? And then you are going to call the game you did today? Good fucking riddance asshole.

at borges' press conference somebody needs to call him out, same at hokes press conference, lets see what stupid excuse he has about why we lost the game and why those plays were called
