for sticking by Borges in his comments during the season, but doing what needed to be done at the end of the season.  Seems like a good guy to coach under.

Gotta give it to Hoke: the man can hide what he thinks incredibly well. (That or Dave Brandon is meddling, but if so, at least it's good meddling.)

Wow. You know, I called for his head all year, but now I feel a little bad about it. Hoke did the right thing, but good luck to you in the future Al Borges.

about Borgess being fired.  I retain the other 51% of excitement until I see who Michigan ends up hiring as the new OC.  Hiring Scott L. would not raise my excitement level beyound a total of 50% for this overall decision.  Hoke / Brandon need to hit an absolute home run with this hire.  Since Funk and Wellman were "retained" for 2014, getting a second rate OC only gives Hoke / Brandon more time to "fix" our 7 year drought of mediocrity.  Pick someone who is young, hungry and up and coming.  We do not need a lifelong journey man OC again (ie Mazzone).

I'm hopeful for the future of the program, but still feel for the guy losing his job.  I was rooting for him to go as much as anyone, but it's hard to "celebrate" this man's worst day of his life.

Thanks for the hard work, sorry it didn't work out.

Very glad to hear this news.  But at the same time, no doubt Big Al did pour his heart and soul into Michigan while he was here, so sincere appreciation for that.  Still, ONWARD!
