Borges interview on HUGE show

Many do not like Huge, but it is a pretty good interview with Al Borges. Interesting that in the early stages of the interview Al admits they should have been a little more spread focused in the early stages of the year.
Although they are looking for Pro Style QB's in the future they would certainly look at a guy like Denard if they seem to be as talented as him (good luck with that).
Also, Braylon Edwards little brother Berkely has not recieved an offer yet. I hear Braylon is upset...

Link?
Was going to post this earlier, figured I would have gotten beaten to the punch. Glad to see it made its way here.
I hope we get that Huge Year 1 to Year 2 jump he keeps talking about.
Touissaint back and a whole year running and Denard in yr 2 should see some growth from our offense- or at least less turnovers
He's all over twitter shocked he cant believe his brother isn't holding an offer
I think the guy is one of the best OC's around, I think Denard will improve greatly and still will make some frustrating throws I'm sure, that would not be on Big Al, that would be on Denard.
Howeva, DRob is gonna have a helluva season IMHO, I'm sensing another special, magical season that will start with a win over Bama, I just have a feeling, we shall see though.
Just wait till these recruiting classes mature and get coached up, it's gonna be a beautiful thing!
I think he's the 8th fastest player in the country in the 60-meter.
Good news.
Maybe the coaches are going after the seven that are faster than Berkley first.
Interesting he thought he should have implemented more spread in the beginning, considering the team's early success. Understandable perspective when reflecting on his approach to the trash tornado though.
If you read Brian's running commentary about spread vs manball throughout the season, we were running a lot of I-form early on (~30% if my memory serves me correctly?) and getting abysmal Yards Per Play. All the while, spread yard per play was great. Towards the end of the season (Nebraska, Illisnois, Ohio), not much change in the average yards per play for I-form but it was down to say 10% of offensive snaps.
The sarcasm detector hasn't been invented that can possible handle the, "Yeah... that'll happen," I'm about to unleash.
Yeah... that'll happen
I can't stand listening to 3 hours of talking about where Peyton Manning might be headed.
I was already pleasantly surprised by Borges, but this interview makes me even more comfortable with what he is doing. As for Huge: he is pompous and pretentious, but he seems to be a lot more deferential to the current regime.
My guess: he is afraid of pissing off Brady Hoke. That is a good thing.
It seems like he likes Brady more than he fears him. It seems to be how a lot of the sports people feel - even if they don't like Michigan itself (Herbie).
I'm curious as to how the offense is going to work this year. It seems like it fell apart during the Sugar Bowl after all the progress they had made during the season.
I propose we make a thread about this Berkley Edwards news. This is OBVIOUSLY a big deal.

Huge is a tool, but I think the interview was pretty good. Al Borges is a great interview anyways. He can carry any situation with his straight forward style.
On the other hand, Berkley Edwards is not a story. If he fits somewhere on this team, then the coaches will offer. The fact that he is Braylon's brother will mean very little. Thankfully, the team doesn't give positions away based on legacy. This isn't Animal House Fergodsake!
Go Blue!
TL;DR - Biggest regret is not using more spread stuff earlier in the year. Fitz takes pressure off Denard and he likes that. Denard's footwork could be better. Biggest goal is to limit turnovers. Happy about year, Sugar Bowl and 33/34pts avg/game.
So far I'm pleased with Borges, and I think we'll be pleased again next year. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2013, though, when Denard is gone. We'll still have a spread-ish quarterback in Devin Gardner, but he's not the same type of runner/playmaker. I wonder if Michigan will go through a difficult transition year when the show gets handed to Gardner and/or Morris.
Devin wasn't too bad when he was played during the season. I was very surprised they didn't play him during the Sugar Bowl when Denard was struggling. I think the growing pains won't be as bad as many believe.
