Boomer & Carton interview with Hoke

Submitted by MGlobules on

Radio interview, M grad Dana Jacobson in the studio. The issues, for better or worse, are the team's worsening record over three years, whether he's on the hot seat, and who's going to shine on the field this year:

Good guy, but I think we can say at this stage that Hoke is not a great interview. Says some admiring things about Devin Gardner, but mostly it's boilerplate, somewhat defensive stuff.

In the recent interview with Wojo, Brandon said Hoke's job would not be in peril this year if the team struggled, but how can it not be? Common sense, for me, would dictate that Brandon be a little bit more cautious. Still, I'm ready to be happily surprised!

I can care less about his public speaking or interview skills. His main job is to develop players and win games. Yes it's a lot more to it than that, but he will be judged off winning B10 championships. Just win man.

Brandon has had 2015 circled for a while as a year where Michigan can make a serious run. We get our rivals at home, Braxton will be gone, and Hoke's recruits (particularly the O-line) will have matured and come into their own by then. 2015 is also a year where Sparty (our biggest comp in the East division) has to play Oregon, then go on the road to OSU, Michgian, and Nebraska. He's not likely to nuke the coaching staff before the 2015 season and break in a new one then.
