Unless someone else is wearing #15 Ross played quite a few snaps today.
September 14th, 2014 at 12:02 AM ^
in going back to college.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:09 PM ^
The good news is none of these injuries seem to be serious. Funchess should be fine for next week.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:15 PM ^
I agree, it doesn't seem that way but we really have no idea. Some of the ones today were completely out of nowheere
September 13th, 2014 at 7:18 PM ^
Is a possible exception. Original rumor said 6 weeks, which is fairly serious. Also, haven't heard anything about Taylor's or Funchess's injuries or return times. Funchess on the sidelines with no crutches is probably a good sign.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:33 PM ^
The typical timeframe for a broken bone is 6 weeks
September 13th, 2014 at 8:33 PM ^
I mentioned in a diff thread, Morgan lives in my neighborhood and his dad spoke to one of our neighbors about his arm.. didn't mention the injury but he has a cast on.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:30 PM ^
No chance Funchess plays next week. Not the way he's limping around on the sideline. No way. Maybe two weeks. Maybe.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:45 PM ^
ALSO said by some guy on a message board with no medical training or inside information who saw some quick clips of the sidelines.
Why are either one of you so emphatic Funchess is or is not going to play next week?
Neither of you have a fucking clue. Speculate all you want, but make it clear that's all it is, and stop saying it like it's gospel truth.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:50 PM ^
You mean like you assuming that I don't have any medical training?
September 13th, 2014 at 8:26 PM ^
I don't hear you denying its veracity Timmy boy.
Hmm? Yeah thanks. Move along now.
September 14th, 2014 at 12:02 AM ^
Did a back handspring today at half time. He's going pro...in basketball. We may see him in the Ohio game but inside word is he is saving himself for the MBB.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:53 PM ^
The dude can barely walk without crutches. what the fuck were you watching?
September 13th, 2014 at 8:33 PM ^
He was clearly hobbling. Doesn't mean he won't play next week but he'll be testing and icing and all that stuff all week, and with tape he might be able to go. We'll see.
September 13th, 2014 at 8:32 PM ^
plays again until October.
September 14th, 2014 at 12:25 AM ^
IMO, two weeks max. They don't let you just walk around without a boot or crutches if it's that serious. It's amazing what these guys play through with a little tape and adrenaline. Case in point: Peppers managed a half on an ankle that untimately took him out for two weeks. Just because he was hobbling in street clothes doesn't necessarily mean he'll be out for long.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:36 AM ^
Ever had an ankle sprain? Typically that gets tape or a light splint - not something you'd even notice on Funchess in long pants. You can usually walk okay, but it's weeks before your ankle feels "right" - especially for anything high impact.
September 14th, 2014 at 6:27 PM ^
As a matter of fact, I've done it a few times (hockey, trail running, and rock climbing isn't easy on the ankles). The times where I was smart enough to see a doctor, they gave me crutches. As it started getting better, I actually noticed the opposite of what you said. Walking about doing everyday things was painful and I was hobbling around for a while, but if I warmed it up for more active stuff, it felt much better for a while until I sat down and it would tighten up again.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:37 PM ^
I agree, Funchess looked pretty gimpy, maybe for b1g opener

As reported by some guy on a message board with no medical training and no inside information who just just saw some quick cuts to the sideline during the game.
Yeah. Ok!
September 13th, 2014 at 7:43 PM ^
What is your basis for saying Funchess should be fine for next week?
He looked very limited on the sideline.
September 13th, 2014 at 8:34 PM ^
yea ok.. Funchess struggled to walk around on the sidelines.. Im sure he won't be doing shit all week and will not play against Utah
September 14th, 2014 at 12:16 AM ^
The way he was hobbling around leads me to believe his injury is non-trivial (guessing ankle sprain). Wide receivers are frequently making hard cuts which puts a lot of stress on the ankles. If he can barely walk, he's no where close to being able to play. My guess is he misses at least two more games.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:09 PM ^
Fergodsakes! This is Michigan! We don't talk about injuries.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:11 PM ^
Injuries? Or are they just hurt?
September 13th, 2014 at 7:14 PM ^
They have boo-boos.
September 13th, 2014 at 8:19 PM ^
Maybe they're ouchies, and that's why Hoke won't talk about them
September 13th, 2014 at 7:21 PM ^
Ln the other side, Butt played a lot. Looks close to 100%. Delano Hill played quite a bit. Kalis played.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:41 PM ^
In the postgame radio interview, Hoke said they deliberately limited how much Butt played. Hoke also provided this comment in the postgame presser:
Hoke: jake butt is getting healthier. Not 100% yet.
— Sam Webb (@SamWebb77) September 13, 2014
September 13th, 2014 at 7:58 PM ^
Jake does not look full speed to me. He was faster last year.
September 13th, 2014 at 8:03 PM ^
Butt came back so fast. I'm concerned he will re injure himself. Butt he does add a huge dimension to the offense. Right when we need it too
September 13th, 2014 at 7:33 PM ^
I posted this in the game day thread. I'm thinking that Kalis is hurt too.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:36 PM ^
Kalis played though

Ok., then. Scratch that. It's clear he's a step behind Glasgow then.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:33 PM ^
Wilson is worrisome as that came out of the blue. Had some safety mixups and he was the 1 guy preseason we said was the most valuable dude on the defense due to dropoff between him and anybody else in experience.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:37 PM ^
By not telling the truth.
September 13th, 2014 at 7:49 PM ^
but coaches don't always tell the truth about injuries and probably some other stuff.
September 13th, 2014 at 9:00 PM ^
Why do people on a message board feel like it's their rightful duty to be given injury information from a coach? He owes us nothing and it serves him no good in telling us who is hurt. Get over it.
