Scott van Pelt just said on the preshow that "over the past three years Notre Dame has had trouble stopping Denard Wilson"
ESPN trolling Michigan fans - 1, us - 0
*BYU, not Utah
Yes, thank you. I just finished watching the highlights from the BYU vs. Utah game last week.
Denard Wilson played for Utah. ???
Since Dennard Wilson is the defensive QC coach for the St. Louis Rams, I can see where he is coming from - ND has totally failed to have a measurable impact on his numbers.
He even interviewed Denard during all the opening week hoopla. Dude must be tired.
I would be tired too if Maryland was the team I rooted for.
He's been watching too many Sanford and Son reruns.
Nothing makes me happier than a Thursday night college game. Only one more day of work then Saturday. Ladies and Gentlemen, we've survived another week. Here's to you.
Yielded the +1. Hopefully you said something awesome.
ND had best beware of Devin Smith as well.
He transferred to Michigan to crush the ND return to glory.
Boise State thursdays are back!
Another reason early season polls are silly. They're ranked on reputation alone (like most everyone else)
Eh, they have actually earned the rep to be a perennial top-25 team unlike teams like FSU or ND. Kind of like how UM would always stay in the top-25 after early season losses it seems. Some teams are actually that good year in and year out. They've had a great run under Peterson. Although you may be correct that this year's team is not a top-25, they get the benefit of the doubt at this point.
The long way of saying "You're right, but let me explain why"?
running a fake inside your own 25? wow....
I think it's a sign of how desperate and mediocre Boise St. is this year.
...is this Bronco's vs. Broncos?
The BYU Cougars vs. the Boise St. Broncos
Just remember, Bronco doesn't coach the Broncos
And the Leaders and Best aren't in the Leaders division
A bullet of a throw by Riley Nelson is intercepted by Boise State, and just when we began thinking that what the BYU offense needed was a single dose of Alisa.
Why wasn't the pick reviewed? I am not sure he ever had control of the ball.
I think the blind and senile Bronco booster they used to use for reviews died, and they don't have anyone else with his expertise to take his place.
Wow, these two teams look really bad right now.
God I hope Brandon never installs blue (or maize) turf in Michigan Stadium.
How about maize stripes alternated with blue stripes every 5 yards?
Exactly. As it is in afraid I may suffer a seizure exposed to this field color, just trying to watch this game.
Wow I thought one of these teams would have scored by now.
Damn, that stadium looks empty.
BSU recovers on Riley Nelson's fumble thanks to a tackle from behind as he tried to extend the field and scramble down the tunnel to the locker room. It is becoming clear that much of the offense in this game may come from latent social avoidance skills.
The Ford F-150 is the official truck of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
I thought their official vehicle was a motorcyle with a leggy blonde on back.
Sorry. Had to do it.
How does that kid transfer from sc to BYU?
Boise State whiffs on their third 4th Down conversion attempt, still tied at 0 1:54 2Q
did he say clusterf*ck?
Lol no, I thought so too though. Reece Davis commented on how close that one slipped out.
Gosh, this game just doesn't look good. Can't tell if both teams are just really good on defense, or if both teams just are not good. Guessing the later.
Well, shit. Of course Griese picked M to beat ND, but Mark frickin' May picks Michigan??? That tears it. Might as well not even watch fellas. We're gonna lose and lose BIG.
I know. I'm sorry. I just have this knee-jerk predilection for vehement disagreement with Mark May.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure May picked us just to piss of Lou Holtz.
For this year, can we just short "We're going lose and lose BIG" to "We're going to B1G"?
Yep, BYU is not doing so well right now. Let's hope they have Denard on their team to step in as QB for the 4th quarter.
That was one of the better Fat Guy Touchdowns I've seen in a while
How could anyone have picked the over in this game? Two really bad offenses here.
How long has Riley Nelson been at BYU? 6 years? He did mission work, I remember that, but holy hell between him and Robbie Hummel.
Since we're talking about football, does anyone have Clemson beating FSU? Or will Clemson be forever Clemson.
Edit: BYU just turned it over AGAIN
I don't think Clemson beats FSU, but that 14.5 line is absurd imo. Clemson covers easily.
BYU really should just line their gloves with epoxy. It's the only way at this point. They'll never turn it over if they can't let go in the first place.
EDIT: OK, so you get a freebie at the 1 and can't convert the turnover into points. It's an indictment of how your offense has gone from "Wow!" to "Oh, wow...well, I hope that clears up soon..."
I bet there is a giant tub of stick-um to be had.
The ref just totally gave Southwick the "sorry, dude..." look. Hilarious.
BYU just looks terrible. Just not coached well type terrible.
Probably hung over from a late night of drunkenness and sugar.
This blue field is hurting my eyes. I can't even see the Boise State players. Is this not an unfair advantage?
Thank goodness, I thought the bulbs on my pop-up big screen TV were malfunctioning again.
I have always loathed this stupid blue field, bad, bad TV, ugh.....and I do believe it is an unfair advantage, sneaky BS
Florida State cowboy hat chick > Boise State cowboy hat chick.
Glad to see him get some PT and he got an interception in the endzone for the Giants.
Hahaha...when BYU's defense reminds the commentators of MSU's defense...man you got problems Boise...
Joe Southwick to OC: "Did you see how I broke up that double play just now? Wait, what?"
Good lord, this game is just turrible. I'm done.
Between this game and the Buffalo game, my eyes just will not stop bleeding.
this is not your uncle's Boise St.
We're 48 minutes into this game and BYU has 22 yards passing and 77 yards rushing. I am hoping that the medical staff is hooking the offense to the AED right now so they can at least make sure it is well enough to be moved to a place where people can give it the proper care.
I'm gonna go watch porn.
Boise scored how many in East Lansing but only manages 7 at home against BYU?
I'm liking Michigan's chances more every day, but I still hate Jessie Palmer.
Amazing. Another incredible special teams punt roller for BSU.
I just turned this game on and BYU's offense looks fine on this drive. Why were they so inept earlier?
Going for 2!
That was idiotic. I don't understand it at all. (Unless BYU's kicker sucks really bad, but the announcers just said BYU has hit something like 68 consecutive PATs.)
I can't imagine any college football team would be unable to kick PATs. Even in 2010 when our FG percentage was historically bad, we had no trouble on PATs.
I was actually thinking about if their kicker(s) was really bad, they may not want the game to go to overtime. But even then, risking it all on a 2 point conversion in regulation rather than risking it in OT is still ridiculous. Especially considering BSU couldn't muster a single offensive point all game.
I wanted BYU to win but they deserve to lose after that call.
A 7-6 stinker would be an excellent candidate for Ugliest Game So Far This Season.
a bit more optimistic after watching a few weekends of football. MSU plays a hardnose style of play, but can be beaten by a team that stands up to them physically and shuts their running game down. Denard should be good enough for a gamebreaking play to push us over the top. They were outplayed quite a bit at home against BSU and ND thumped them at home as well.
ND is playing with an unproven QB that is weak in passing (been there ...). If we shut down the run and force him to throw we should be in good shape. He will target his TE a lot in this game. We know all of our weaknesses, but we still have enough strengths to win these two games.
If we shut down the run and force him to throw we should be in good shape.
Easier said than done.
two games in a row in very, very tough fashion. In about 5 days even.
So... Michigan State's defense is worse than BYU's defense?
Let's get them into the Big House as fast as possible then.
MSU was very over rated and got to much credit for beating a really bad and over rated BSU team. ND than gets heaps of love for beating what is a not very good MSU team. I think the bottom line is that we won't know much about ND or Michigan until after Saturday night. But my bet is on Michigan. Unless our WRs suddenly forget how to play in the rain, I think it will be a good night for the maize and blue.
Yeah, the BYU defense held Boise to less yards per play than MSU and no offensive points...I think Boise just isn't that good this year. The funny part is that there's probably 1, maybe 2 teams that can actually beat them the rest of the year though. That offense is putrid.
They hate the blue turf too!!!!!
But I must be the only person who can tell the difference between the players and field during Boise games.
It it's possible for a team to win a game and drop out of the top 25 that week, this is the one.
