Boise State fans are bitter regarding Goudis

It's a nice mix of "He's a kicker, who cares?", some comments noting that Michigan is a better school and a bigger stage, and then some of my favorites:

He commited to Michigan during a visit in the dead of winter?

Maybe we didn’t want him after all.

My favorite, by far and away, by someone who very clearly had a Michigan fan romance his significant other:

This is how Big Ten fans feel about Michigan. Not a single school out here – Big Ten or not – likes Michigan. Arrogant jackwagons, they are. Their dealings are shady, at best. If you MUST root for a Big Ten team – which is darn near impossible to do given Ohio $tate’s president statements and their whole tattoo autograph thing – then root for Michigan State. Closest thing to a “classy” program in the Big Ten – though out here, the clean programs are the ones that suck.

And finally, by the same, shall we say, special poster:

Can't say I'm surprised...

I’ve got no proof, but it’s not exactly a big secret here in Big Ten country that Michigan and Ohio State play dirty in football and basketball recruiting. It helps when you have rich alumni who can cover their tracks well enough to not get caught. coughMichigancough They aren’t all as clean as Petersen and staff.

Wow.

Woah, if you didn't have a reason before to cheer against Boise State, here you go.

Well its good to know that Boise is catching up to the bigger programs in misplaced internet anger quotient.

They have a lot more ground to make up if they ever want to catch match the venom of the Big Ten, let alone the SEC.

Goudis to Michigan? That's crazy.

It's like he'd rather play in front of 110k+ versus 35k-ish. Or go to one of the top public universities in the country versus a commuter college. Or play in a top-echelon conference versus having to politic and beg for his program to go to a bowl besides the Humanitarian/Las Vegas bowl...

Goudis must be the one on crack...

That guy "NighthawkWatch" seems awfully butthurt by Michigan for some reason. It's good to see just about everyone else being rational in there.

Judging by his pro sports fandom choices, he is from Chicago and just couldn't bring himself to choose a Midwestern team (or went to Western, Eastern, or Southern).  Sad, since he has all the pro fandom choices I do, but not exactly surprising either.  This area (Chicagoland) is filthy with idiots that don't know a thing about college sports.

I  find it very surprising the Boise State fans are behaving this way especially over a lost commitment from a kicker.  I could see maybe losing a blue chip QB, WR, etc . .. . (some star position) and being really upset but they are taking this exaggeratedly hard.

Who would have thought Boise had such hate for Michigan.

I also didn't realize the program is participating in shenanigans in regards to recruiting either.  That's news to me.

If Michigan provided illegal benefits to a kicker who's, on average, maybe the 10th best kicker in the country....well....every recruit is getting paid.  You don't give a 6'0", 165-pound redhead a kickback without giving some money to the kids who run really, really, really fast.

And by this I mean...Boise State fans are just bitter.

But hey, Michigan fans are still pissed at Dequinta Jones and Pearlie Graves, so we're not exactly zen masters when it comes to stuff like this.

Yeah, you're right we aren't zen masters to this stuff but it just seems so bizarre for a school out of Idaho creating alot of buzz on the chatter boards being pissed over a kicker decommitting.  Now, if Goudis (or if any other kicker for that matter) were to decommit to Michigan then I could see the fanbase being very disgruntled seen as how none of the kickers can make it through the uprights nor punt more than 15 yards outside of Will Hagerup.  It's a position of need for Michigan.  Based on the logical voices of the message board, kicker is not a position of need for their program.  So it's just out of bitterness and hatred for feeling like they are still mid-level to bigger programs.

First it's Boise State and who cares.

Second he is from Chicago so who cares

Third he thinks msu is a classy program.

When I am done laughing I will share this with my family so that they can pee themselves also.

This is Eastern Washington's attempt to fry the retinas of college football fans everywhere.

Please Wisconsin, Nebraska, Ohio State,

Don't do it.  Just don't do it, alright?

Why isn't anyone thinking of young Mr. Goudis? He is leaving behind a golden opportunity to play on blue turf AND get a degree at the nation's finest truck driving institution. Not just anyone has the chance to earn a professional CDL license and enjoy the freedom of the open road and as much chicken fried steak as one can eat.

WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN?

Pardon me for being crass on Christmas Day, but who gives a flying fuck what a poster on Boise State's boards has to say about us?  Certainly not this guy...

Just think: Michigan had a disgruntled alum with inside access to the program, working for what qualifies in Michigan as a "major newspaper," who tried to bring the program down for "improprieties."   He lied to naive freshmen and interviewed disgruntled ex-players, looking for whatever "cheating" he could find.

And the best he could come up with was fifteen minutes of stretching being counted as "voluntary" instead of being counted as practice time.

If Michigan was a school that cheats, especially on the level of an OSU, USC, or most SEC teams, the "reporter" would have either found something substantial or suddenly gotten an "offer he can't refuse" and stopped the investigation.  Neither happened.

Even someone who had eaten blue turf for breakfast should be able to discern that Michigan is not a "dirty program."
