Now sure if you're joking or not but he would have never gone straight from D2 to Michigan especially with his defensive rankings. He'll go to a FCS program and prove his worth and then move up to a MAC school.

He wouldn't be a good fit for Army. I don't think he have any clue what it would take to be successful at a US Academy, and I can't blame him. Coaching at the academies is not a job for a nice guy like him. He would be coaching soldiers and they need to have someone who understands what they go through day to day. He could learn how, but at this time it's not a good fit.

Are you sure? The coaches at Air Force and Navy certainly seem like nice enough dudes. If anything, I'd expect someone experienced with coaching engineering students up would be perfect for a service academy. But offensive innovation seems anathema to them as they prefer the triple option uber alles

Looks like Stitt wanted to stay as a head coach, I would have thought he could get an FBS coordinator job if he wanted. We'll see if he tries moving up again if he has a few good years with the Griz

Mines to Montana is like jumping from Eastern to Ohio State. I'd expect him to win fast and win big if he is half the coach he's reputed to be... and since he's still young-ish (51), he could make a jump to the FBS and maybe even a low level P5 team in 3-4 years time

They were 9-5 this year - dont know a damn thing about Montana but did their old coach get hired somewhere else?

In the way back machine Stitt of 2014 would  have played the fighting Harbaughs of San Diego.  Also he had a matchup vs the Fighting Craig Bohl's this year.
