Board Etiquette
While reading over the threads from yesterday I happened upon the thread about Warren being worth of a 7th round selection. BlueBloodRunsThick basically said how he's glad Warren wasn't selected and fuck him. It's a completely ridiculous and immature post and I don't condone it whatsoever. My problem was with the response it received. The first response told this guy/girl to go die in a fire. It was even upvoted. If that is how this board is run than you can count me out from now on.
I've seen some incredibly vulgar stuff on here but never anything about wishing death upon someone for saying something, albeit stupid, that was clearly from an emotional standpoint. I'm not defending the original post but the reply completely sickened me. As you all know a few weeks ago someone in Ann Arbor was caught in a fire and ended up dying. In my opinion this poster should be banned. If the moderators on this board have any integrity they will do such.
A lil brevity (I think that means lightheartedness) and possibly an understanding of sarcasm can go a long way.
You mention someone dying in a fire, and how maybe fire death humor should result in a banning. Hey, people die playing football--should football humor be a bannable offense?
I hardly think anyone here really wants anyone else to die, especially in a horrific way.
And please don't toss out your definition of "integrity" as the one that should govern this board.

If I'm not mistaken, brevity refers to the quality of being brief.

Levity, perhaps?
Go die in a fire...Too soon?
The 'vulgar' content on this site is nothing compared to what you will see on just about any other message board. Have you ever looked at ESPN's 'conversation' boards? Or even those from any newspaper? This site is infinitely more well-run than any other that I have seen.
You, I suppose you're programmed for etiquette and protocol. I have no need for a protocol droid.
I'm not sure we'll notice your departure. Not to be mean, but you've been here for less than three weeks, and you're delivering what sounds like an ultimatum? Lot's of stupid things are said on this board, and lots of people get undeserved pos- or net-bangs. You can choose to either get over it or move on. The implication that the noted behavior impunes the entire site is just silly.

I guess it's cool to make jokes about it too.
EDIT: Directed on the posts down below.

At least one political site is now holding GBCW ("good-bye cruel world") posters to their word. If you say you're going to leave because you're upset about something, then do it. They impose a three month ban on the user.

More to the point, IMHE this board does a better job of policing itself than any other you're going to find out there. The fact that other people didn't feel the comment was neg-worthy probably means that others found it funny, or at least not TERRIBLY offensive. So I suppose your major complaint is with our collective moral compass... and I don't think that's something the mods can fix.
Yet.

That is pretty awful. I don't really know what else to say about it. Hey guys, I watched "The Lovely Bones" yesterday and it was fantastic. I highly recommend it to all.
April 25th, 2010 at 10:15 AM ^
The Lovely Bones SUCKED. Worst movie I have seen since 2012.
April 25th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
Really? I thought the first half was definitely better than the second but it was still a cool movie to me. 2012 was just special effects and poor acting. Why didn't you like The Lovely Bones?

Just trying to help you more fully experience the internet. You're welcome.

Most fire deaths occur from smoke inhalation.
I've offered up some Dutch Ovens that have achieved the same results.

Death from smoke inhalation? That's impressive.

Someone said something stupid on the internet.. Are you twelve and this is the first time for you on the Internet...
Whatever happened to the time honored tradition "sticks and stone can break my bones but words will never hurt me". Kids these days are soft.
April 25th, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
Will Ferrell changed it to "sticks and stones may break my bones but I will kick you repeatedly in the balls Gardocki."

I'm still drunk from last night and Liverpool just scored. I'm just glad I remembered to use "an" instead of "a."
(I don't give a shit where that last period is supposed to go)

...someone throws a spitball at the teacher and the whole class has to stay late.
There's always one in every crowd or on every board...
