Bo and Woody photo

Submitted by SagNasty on

I want to get some opinions on a photo I have considered purchasing. The photo is of Bo and Woody talking before a game. I have always thought this was a great photo. I hate Ohio more than anything, but I think the photo is great and would be awesome in a michigan man cave. I am not sure about having anything ohio in my home but I love rivalry

As much as we all love Michigan, if we have our rivalries rated as anything more than a very fun and sometimes intense sporting interest then we are no better than the idiots we rail against.  That is a great photo and if it fits with your decor in your mancave, get it.  Without question some of my most favorite memories have to do with running conversations (not trash talk) I had with guys from other schools when we played.  The joy of victory is enhanced by the excellence of your opponent, and if you have a genuine respect for him too, all the better.

I know a lot of people have already said it, but this is an amazing picture. It represents the respect the schools have for one another, it's what makes it one of the best rivalries in sports. If someone asked me to explain the Michigan Ohio State rivalry, I would show them this picture.

I think that handshake was taken before the game.

I admit that the photo is a classic.  But the only photo of Woody I would hang on my wall would be either the time he punched the TV camera in 77 or when he threw the sideline markers at the refs in 71.

To love Michigan is to love the rivalry.  "Bo and Woody" is the rivalry.  I would never condone a picture of just Woody Hayes, but IME asking if you should hang a picture of Bo and Woody is tantamount to wondering if it's OK to have a picture of the Big House.

The photo is GREAT. I collect memorabilia and will have this photo in my "man cave". I currently have the bobble head of them both together. Keep enemies close and also respect them. I agree the rivalry is greater because of those two legends.

Its a great photo because they really did have a great relationship and respect for one another.  Its 100% man cave worthy, enjoy.

The Bo and Woody photo is great and certainly would find a place in my home. Other than that,, there's only one Ohio coach I would likewise honor: who else but John Cooper, best Buckeye coach ever.

That photo is part of the lore that makes Michigan football so special and I would hang it on my wall in a second.  I'm proud that we have enough mgosportsmanship to appreciate that not only has intense competition has made us better, it has made us the storied program that we are.

That said, this is coming from a guy who taught his dog to relieve himself on the command  "Buckeye."  In fact, we can't even safely use that word in the house (not that we would ever want to).  While no doubt Woody would disapprove, I'm certain that I know what Bo would think.  Or thinks.

I've since moved to Switzerland, and I'm quite sure there are hundreds of Swiss who--after seeing it in action--now think that word is American slang for "take a leak."  So my dog and I both get satisfaction out of it.
