I don't do much whining about refs, but this was some of the shittiest reffing I've seen in a while. It's one thing if it's ticky-tacky on both sides, but this was so effing lopsided it's not even funny. We should have been able to hold it together, but Wisconsin had some serious help.

So damn pissed. Can't win a game in Madison cause you get fuckin homered every damn time you play a game there. Screw Wisconsin, screw Big Ten refs, and screw you Bo Ryan you dumb ugly fuck. God you hear Bo Ryan... i hate that ass.

That should have been an easy 10 point Michigan victory. A combination of awful officiating and Michigan missing shots down the stretch sealed the deal for Wisconsin. Wisconsin is a fraud of a ranked team though.

It probably wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game, but that charging call against Sims with about 2 minutes left was just disgusting. IMO, flopping is completely ruining both college and pro basketball.

There's no doubt he is our most talented player. But whether it's selfishness, frustration, or just mental lapses, whenever he faces tough defense instead of deferring to teammates (which by the way was working for the first 30 minutes of the game) he forces plays resulting in terrible shots and turnovers. When Manny plays under control and takes things as they come you see games like UCONN, Clemson last year, Duke last year.

Manny might 'get it' once in awhile but he forces too much and is out of control 'x' amount of the time. He had back to back drives midway through the 2nd half where he got to the paint and threw ridiculous passes backwards with no idea where the ball was going. Furthermore, he reminds of a baserunner who gives away he's going. You know exactly when he is about to force a shot or try to repeat some silly shot he remembered making when he was 11. Yea, Blue got hosed; but when you run your offense 30 ft from the basket and rarely get inside, you can't expect to get decent foul differentials. The sets are maddening.

a star player should want the ball in his hands when it's crunch time, and that is exactly what Manny was doing. he just had an off day and was swarmed every time he tried to drive. If Manny continues to try to be the difference-maker in close games like he did today, we will definitely come out with more wins than losses in those contests.

...was the same as our season up to this point in a nutshell. We showed brief flashes of excellence, but were too inconsistant and couldn't catch a break when it mattered.

ANGRY MICHIGAN HATING GOD!!! Thought you were left out of this one. Turns out you were hiding under the seats. Or in the ref's pants. Or something. FUCK YOU, YOU ASSHOLE!

Nice fucking euro flop on the "charge" with 1:36 left by that stupid bitch Nankivil. I'm hateful of all things Badger right now. Fuck. We need to beat those fuckers by 20 in Ann Arbor.

Fact of the matter is that M was up 39 - 30 with 9 minutes left, from that point forward Sims touched the ball exactly 3 times. Poor decision making by the guards, and I don't know what to say about Mr. Harris, he baffles me at times. He clearly has the ability to beat his man off dribble and yet he pulled up for 10-12 foot jumpers on 3 consecutive possessions instead of going all the way to the rim.

Not solely, but the refs called a string of charges and fouls at the end that completely fucked up the rhythm Michigan was in. Because these same calls were not reciprocated to Michigan, I will blame this loss 60% on the refs. Poor shooting definitely didn't help, but they were firmly planted in the drivers seat.

I almost beat the shit out of it. I was thinking, "hmmmmm, wonder if we're ranked after this win, the purdue win, and the state win?" Fuck my overconfidence.

i couldnt blame the refs. sims is talented but he is such a mope. what could he have possibly been thinking taking that 3? and harris had almost a comically bad game. where did running into the teeth of the defense and throwing up a prayer come from? send that back. the talent we'll lose this year will hurt, but i think having novak lead this team rather than sims will more than make up for it.

My friend called me tonight (before the game) because she was afraid I was slipping into a depression. Throughout the first half I thought she was crazy for suggesting such hogwash. But now I see she is simply an oracle who has correctly predicted the outcome of the rest of my mood for the season.

Blown game? Don't you mean "teh refs were teh suxxor!!!" That officiating was so magnificently horrendus that not even the L.A. Lakers could have won that game. Absolutely horrifying. I'm also going to cite a few terribly egregious errors in judgement by these moronic imbeciles. No credit is due to the ranked team playing at home, and hell, we all know that there is no way that a maddeningly inconsistent Michigan team could have possibly blown a lead or collapsed, right? Even if they are a young team and were playing on the road, losing in UNACCEPTABLE! especially when brought on by those spectuacularly inept referees. /blind homer /almost everyone here

Points 48 54 FG Made-Attempted 17-44 (.386) 18-52 (.346) 3P Made-Attempted 6-17 (.353) 4-24 (.167) FT Made-Attempted 8-11 (.727) 14-17 (.824) Fouls (Tech/Flagrant) 18 (0/0) 12 (0/0) That looks very even except for one thing. PFs, 6 more for Michigan and 6 shots more for UW. Coincidence that we lose by 6? The other stats to look at are rebounding: Mich: 33 UW: 32 and TOs: Mich: 12 UW: 5?? (that doesn't seem right but thats what the ESPN box-score says). So the game came down to. TOs and PFs. We played sloppy at the end of the game but the game was gift-wrapped with terrible calls and since they were in the double bonus not only did we not get the benefit of the calls that should have been rightfully made but instead we get shafted. For example the Peedi charge we shoot 2 he makes 1 they made 2 that's a 3 point swing and now it's only a 3 point game. Yes we played sloppily at the end of the game but to say that we didn't get the raw end of the deal is also not attempting to be an impartial viewer and an impartial viewer says that we got jobbed.

We have no claim to impartiality. If there is any recognition of this outside of Michigan fans, I will be shocked. We'll see what they think on UMHoops in the morning, but unless the statistics show that Michigan did much better in eFG, TO rate (which they did not), and rebounding (which IMO was a puch), then we can say that the FT rate cost us. Still, Wisconsin has gotten to the line way more than we have this year (70 more attempts). Statistics do not seem to suggest that fouls were how we lost the game, and while I do agree a few pivotal calls may have swayed the game, basketball refereeing is subjective and split-second as to when the call must be made. I'd blame Michigan's inability to pull away, or make easy shots.

Six more personal fouls isn't that many, especially given that we committed a bunch at the end of the game. I thought there were a few bad calls that went against us, but we also caught a few ourselves (such as Manny's three-point play in the final minute). I've seen a lot worse.

during these difficult times for UF's basketball team my girlfriend, who graduated from there, likes to say that obviously they don't love the university enough to win. I don't know what to say, effort can win games and if you don't put in as much effort as your body can tolerate i'm going to say you don't want to win enough. Playing midget A and BB hockey in Mt. Pleasant back in the early 2000's, my coach would tell us when we were behind that we need to play so hard that we thought about throwing up. Looking back it was true, playing as hard as our bodies could have would have won more games during those times. I don't care if they pass out on the floor or puke, they need to play harder.

gotta give Sims some love for playing his heart out, Manny was too helter skelter with his dribble and penetration, Gibson was responsible for at least 5 turnovers, getting tired of hearing about the "intangibles" let's see some F'n scoring. Wisc shot just 34% and still won.

the lack of seniors and the lack of a 3rd consistant scorer has hurt us all year. i like novak and douglass but there young and cant create there own shots, if harris doesnt come back next yr we are in trouble.
