Bloomington Weather

Submitted by U of M in TX on

The weather today in Bloomington is supposed to be windy (10 mph) with a 30% chance of rain.  IME this will benefit Michigan's defense by limiting the downfield success of Chappel.  In turn, this shouldn't affect Michigan's offense the way it will Indiana's.

That weather seems pretty normal for the Midwest in the fall.  I don't think it will prove to be any advantage for either team.  Now maybe if that was 50MPH wind that only blew during Indiana's offensive possessions and always towards them...  then we'd be talking.

If it really starts raining hard it might help us. If that doesn't happen, I think both teams will be able to execute their offenses just fine.

From someone who is currently tailgating Bloomington, there is a 30% chance it's already raining. It's chilly big ten weather which sucks for unprepared traveling fans, but ideal against IU's offense.

10 mph can hardly be called "windy." I'm not sure what forecast you looked at, but the NWS forecast says "wind between 14 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph." That seems slightly more problematic for downfield passing (not to mention field goals).

Bloomington weather according to Yahoo:

TODAY:  Cloudy with occasional rain showers. High 63F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

TONIGHT:  A shower is possible early. A few clouds. Low 39F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.

Seems we've had many dark and cloudy Big Ten games so far this season and we're only 5 weeks in.

It is currently raining (12:30) but based on radar it looks like the front will be passed by kickoff or shortly thereafter.  Stupid Bloomingon.  I moved here about 2.5 months ago for my husband's post-doc job and I can count on one hand the number of times it has actually rained since I've been here.  Eveything has been brown for at least the last month.  The one time I would have liked a dry day the rain comes.
