With the new Harbaugh era, I expect a new tone to these spirit videos. Everyone is salivating for football season. I don't mind giving the team some privacy during Fall Camp. This is the year of hard work. Keep expectations grounded for this year.
Man I miss Countdown to Kickoff, and those videos were barely enough to get me to the first game.
I hope they will start this week once fall camp begins!
It's a shame they were vetoed this year, but I get it. JH doesn't want any distractions this year.
I hadn't heard they were cancelled for this season. Where was it said?
JH answered a reporters question at B1G media days saying that practice was closed to reporters accept for a few times a week before or after practice. Nobody will have access to live practice sessios. He is closing ranks.

I for one am glad they're gone because it allows the program to be somewhat shrouded in mystery heading into the new season.
Not to mention, it's annoying how people over-analyze the hell out of them, and as the last handful of seasons have proved, the videos were essentially getting us excited over nothing.
These snippets are much more professional.
I haven't heard him speak before. Cool vids, these.
Honestly every time I watch these teaser trailers I get squeamish with a little voice in my head saying "let's first win some actual games...."
In this video i felt it during Ryan Glasgow saying "the winning tradition of Michigan football ". Yea it is true historically but recent history says otherwise. But I'll play this on repeat for hours next year if we win 10 games this season...
Agree. As we've seen, over and over again, these videos don't mean shit.

You know, these videos aren't supposed to mean anything. They're hype videos and for how short they are, they're doing a pretty good job of hyping an already antsy Michigan fan base. As for the winning tradition, last 10 years doesn't refute over 120 years of great Michigan football. We may have deviated from our ways recently, but we still have a winning tradition.

How's the University of Tulane (3 time SEC Champion) doing?
It's a slippery slope relying on your past successes.

I don't know. How's the University of Alabama (terrible record and multiple losing seasons from 1997-2007) doing? Anybody can point out teams that used to be good - army, Chicago Harvard, Princeton.
I'm not saying we should rely on our past - if anything the last 10 years have taught us that. But it's completely arrogant to dismiss your entire history. Michigan is the winningest team in the nation by a decent margin. If we don't have a winning tradition, nobody does.

HALOL at using Tulane.

Don't neg me too much for saying this, but THIS is effective marketing of 'the brand.' Between yesterday's video and especially this video just get me to the edge of my seat ready to be the crazed-insane-take-no-prisoners M fan I used to be before the last 8 years turned me cynical.

It is definitely a more interesting way of building the excitement, especially with the limited access to the program that will be allowed in August, and I think the feeling you describe - "crazed, insane, take-no-prisoners" - is what they are attempting to build, although obviously backing it up with a good performance will help. I am curious as to how many more of these there will be actually.
