Mr. Yost, I upvoted you for this: "Anyone who WANTS Michigan to lose can kiss my ass. That's not a fan, that's not wanting whats best ... that's just bullshit."

Agreed. But to be fair, that's NOT what he said. He said: "Fire Brandon and Fire Hoke. Hopefully getting pasted by sparty will put the final nails in the coffins for both Hoke and Brandon."

He never said, "I hope Michigan loses" or "I hope Sparty kicks our ass" or anything like that. He simply recognized the high probability of Michigan losing (the same as every Vegas oddsmaker has), and hopes it will result in Brandon and Hoke finally getting kicked to the curb.

In short, he's expecting something bad to happen, but hopes that some good comes out of it.

And I could easily reply that A) You and his detractors can ignore his exact words all you want, and can instead rely upon your own inferences; and B) If his meaning really were clear as a bell, we wouldn't be disputing it. But since that doesn't get us anywhere, let's cut through the bullshit and get the answer directly from the horse's mouth. Hey Groot: Your post wasn't clear. Do you actually WANT Michigan to lose on Saturday?

no moral victories.  I can't believe how many are in the "well, if we keep it close" camp.  Fack That! A loss is a loss. moral victories are for losers right now, and the only way this is a victory is if we come away with more points than the other team.

Wash it off.

Or I'm sure Brandon has plenty of block M's in his possession. You know, "just in case," for instances just like this. It's a non issue.

Reminds me of that scene in 'The Other Guys'

Brandon probably organized this. That's a non-standard Block-M! Now we need to replace it with a Brand Approved Block M. Students will be charges a nominal fee to not step on it.

they got us so I give it to them. I just don't think any UM fans have the heart to paint the spartan statute as of lately. Plus, nobody is around the diag this time of year after about 2am. Not hard to do but they did it. Funny how it's taking their fans (many bandwagon or silent until recently) far less time to become prideful.....and we know what their coach said about that. It's of the utmost importance that we go into next season with top level guys heading the AD and HC position. IMO, this is truly the tipping point for Michigan Football for what could be a very long time. This year is lost. I can sadly but honestly admit that. We're going to get spanked by msu & osu. However, this is still Michigan. We just need to act like it on and off the field again as we've slowly killed ourselves. msu is now, well, us. We are now msu...lol. However, unlike msu we're the right hire away from being a giant AGAIN. msu cannot survive as they now know it with a strong, "normal" Michigan Program running. They can remain a good team but nothing like this. They don't have the natural reach and support that Michigan does when rolling. The next AD & HC have to be home run hires or this could get much worse. Yet, if they are msu cannot compete at this level with the "Big 3" in the area if all are up and running. That said, again, they got us and will win Saturday. I'm concerned about next year.

Unfortunately, I don't think a group of fans acting independently is quite as bad as the AD paying for skywriting. Maybe it should be, "Pride continues unabated even while the fall is ongoing."

Man, it's too bad they probably felt pretty comfortable doing this, knowing this team is so horribly coached that there is almost no chance of this being thrown back in their faces.

I think that, by the rules of "juju", the culprit's next exam will have a section where the answer is either "Bobby Williams" or "John L. Smith", depending on the painful (for them) moment in Spartan football being described. Their next bluebook will be the answer to this - explain the following: "That's a dang coaching mistake."

Nothing quite shows your superiority like spray-painting a piece of metal.  I get that this stuff is all about rivalries, but all you are really accomplishing is making an operations/facilities person at UM have to waste some of his time cleaning up after a bunch of college kids.

...of having our team clean it with toothbrushes. They just don't seem as passionate about this game as the other guys.

As an old-schooler, I prefer retaliation to be done with blue paint, not maize. I superstitiously suspect our slide into mediocrity can be tied to an emphasis on maize over blue, but that could just be a residual bad beer effect on my brain.

We will go to paint sparty with blue and yellow paint, we will accidently mix them together while painting and sparty will become green in the process..... Again, they practiced painting sparty right, they just didn't execute when it counted on Main Street....blah, blah, blah.....

Oh, I get that Michigan does it too; I remember some members of the band(?) painting Sparty one year I was there.  I guess as I've gotten older and started to clean up for a little kid, I'm starting to see that the people who really suffer aren't the students or athletes but instead some guy or gal who has to scrub cheap Meijer paint off school property.

The bad mojo only applies to those with the credentials to get into the University. I'm going out on a limb and assuming whoever did this lacked self confidence during their high school career.

Instead of worrying about firing our AD, perhaps our students should be concentrating on supporting everybody involved with our program and (literaly) defending our turf. Asleep at the wheel and drowning in toxicity... This would not have happened in the olds days.

Is this silly? Of course, but this is the kind of stuff that just adds to the rivalry. Hoke keep talking about how "prideful" our team is. Well, if that is remotely true, this should fire them up a bit.

I know that we are going into the game is underdogs (currently 17 points, I believe), but I am personally hoping that we go into that toilet of a stadium and curb stomp Sparty.

...and they are going to practice and prepare really well at being mad about this.  /sorry

Damn I hope our boys get play angry this weekend.  I don't expect a W, but I'm with a lot of others on this...put up a damn fight.
