and we end up in a division without Nebraska or PSU, I feel like we definitely have gotten the short end of the stick in every aspect.  I would be extremely upset.

According to spartantailgate.com, Tim Staudt (radio host/sports anchor in Lansing) is reporting this:

per Tim Staudt and "unimpeachable source"

MSU, Mich, Neb, NU, Iowa, Min

OSU, Wis, IL, IU, PSU, PU

M-Wolverine

M-OSU

WiSC - NEB

IOWA - MINN

Then

MSU - PSU

NW- ILL

INDY - PUR

Iowa already plays Minnesota, and Wisconsin was wanting to play Nebraska because of it.  Though they should have flipped Minnesota and Indiana so they could all be cross division rivalries. Though I wouldn't put it past them to try and stick it to MSU and get PSU and Nebraska matching up at the end. But I just think Barry has gotten his way too much lately for it not to happen.

If the conference alignment holds true as identified by WDFN, it is clear the conference preferred a Michigan-OSpUke championship game paring vs. a play-in game.

The Big Ten is making the kind of business decisions big companies have to make all of the time: Do we guarantee a yearly game by placing the two teams in the same division or bet on a MUCH bigger take at the gate by forcing these two teams to meet for the conference championship?  It appears the conference has decided that the big game is a much bigger game in a formal championship environment and worth the risk of not meeting some years, unless there is a provision for a cross-over week, but I doubt it.

Suffice it to say it will serve as further motivation for each school to show up for the conference championship game if they want their "annual" showdown.

Instead of speculating, I'm just going to wait until it is actually announced.  Because my analysis of the divisional line-ups doesn't mean anything.

It's been announced. And while most M fans are not happy with it, i'm fine with it.  We are Michigan and we're going to show everyone we're back this season.  2011 is going to be off the charts and I'm not worried who we play quite frankly.  Hail Hail.  GO BLUE
