Biggest Match-ups from CFB Opening Weekend through Marvel Comics
Pretty cool they take Marvel comic covers and add in the mascots to replace the characters. Michigan is the blind lawyer, not sure if that has any further meaning or was it just names out of a hat....

Hurts my eyes more than staring directly at the eclipse w/o glasses did.

I'm sorry, but this is the easiest layup in the world and they tossed an airball. If only there were a Marvel character that shared a nickname with Michigan, as well as (occasionally) a color scheme.
"But they can't just make Florida the villain, they have to be fair and use heroes."
If only there were a Marvel character that was predominantly green in color, that was also considered a "hero," that was known for fighting with a character that shared a nickname with Michigan. Say, perhaps the Michigan character's debut?
This isn't hard. I swore off comic books a long time ago and it still comes pretty easily to me.

Not even an airballed layup. This is like a dunk on a playmate hoop with a nerf ball for a grown man, but instead they tripped over themselves and broke their leg when the ball spontaneously combusted in their hands.

Why didn't they use Wolverine for us? That's just dumb.

Jeez really? Marvel couldn't have just made us Wolverine instead of drawing out an actual wolverine?
We frickin' tee'd it up for these guys. Swing and a miss.

Wendigo could be replaced by a Ref in the alternate football cover.

Way back in November of '74 when I was 11 years old. I wish I still had this comic book in which the wolverine first appeared. Of course I bought because I was a big Michigan fan as a child.

Why is OSU/Indiana considered one of the biggest games for opening weekend? Were they really worthy of a Marvel cover?
Are college football fans around the country eagerly awaiting that game?
August 22nd, 2017 at 1:05 PM ^
I'm sure it's because ESPN decided to do a megacast for that game and is doing a modified Gameday show.
August 22nd, 2017 at 3:45 PM ^
Yep. ESPN loves to suck OSU's cock.

Also LOL at the Indiana Hoosier character. It's so nondescript, it's the only Marvel "comic" that's a generic football player rather than any kind of character or mascot.

Looks more Hanna-Barbera than Marvel.

Looks like the Gator is pantless so it's easier to hump a shark.

Should have went with real characters.
Bama - Grey Hulk
FSU - Red wolf
OSU - Scarlet Witch
Indiana - Indiana
Florida - The Lizard
Michigan - Wolverine
etc etc daniel boone vs vulture, lockjaw vs wasp

Wolverine would've been nice though unfair for Florida. I mean their shitty mascot versus Wolverine? Man, that'd be worse than the outcome of the game on Sept 2.

ESPN is so afraid of not being politically correct. Search for the FSU Bama one.

Quick! Who won in that issue? Captain America or Daredevil?

Close one eye... tilt phone and look at photo from the bottom of your phone. You're welcome.

The Tenn - GA Tech cover is sooo cute. Like Paw Patrol is playing flag football in the backyard.
