Big Ten Tournament Seeding Prediction Thread

Submitted by BigBlue02 on

Not the actual team, their ranking. Before this Indiana game, they are ranked 8th in the nation and also 8th in the B10. Also, let's make this into a B10 tournament seed prediction thread. After yesterday's win, I'm calling a 4 seed for Michigan in the B10 tourney. Does yesterday's game change anyone's opinion on where the team ends the season?

MSU being ranked #8 is vexing. I am vexed. They beat ranked teams like Kansas, Louisville, and Maryland. They also lost to Nebraska and Wisconsin, and got creamed by Iowa twice. They seem like a high teens, low 20s kind of team, ranking wise, to me.

and they looked like the best team in the country against us.  I think that I am going to stop going to games.  I've only been at two, Indiana and MSU at home.  Both were pretty awful.

I'd say UM will be lucky to get a 7-seed in the B1G and NCAA tourney.  Even after yesterday's game, I think we will only beat NW the remainder of the schedule.  Seeds will be MSU, MD, Iowa, IU, Wisky, OSU, UM, and then the rest of the pack.

Isn't seeding for the Big Ten tourney based on Big Ten standings? Like, that seems like the logical appraoch at least? How on earth do you expect MSU to jump past 6 teams in the remainder of the season? That would require Iowa to lose 4 times, and the remainder of their schedule includes @Penn State (virtually guaranteed win), vs. Wisconsin (a likely victory), @Ohio State (almost a guaranteed win) vs Indiana (the most likely but still unlikely team to beat them), then @Michigan (a game you said you expect Iowa to win). Somewhere your logic takes a hit, because Iowa is not going to lose 4 games out of those 5, unless they lose to us or Penn State, and there is no way they will lose to Penn State, and you already said they'll bet us. I expect us to win 2 or 3 out of our last 4, which would mean state probabl wouldn't jump us, let alone the rest of the conference. Sorry this is so long, but it would take essentially a miracle for MSU to jump from 7th to 1st in the Big Ten with so few games remaining. And I also think we have no business losing to OSU. And we definitely can beat Iowa (we almost did at Iowa).

I wish we could pencil ourselves in for a 7 or below seed. My gut tells me we are going to be 8 or 9. We best be ready to take down a 1-seed (preferably with the fewest bigs as possible)
