State up 9-5 early on here. Winner gets us. Rooting interest is approximately 8 OTs.
Big Ten Semi-final Open Thread
Valentine is the king of using his off hand to push off on drives. And the king of ugliness.
I don't know if your a huge overall College B-ball follower, though I'm sure you saw him in last year's Elite 8. Scotty Wilbiken from Florida is another ugly, ugly dude. Valentine has him beat, but man.
I'm sure they're stand up guys, but I can't help my observations.
Broadcasters brought up a good point. How many times will you have two Kaminski's in one game?
One is a ski while the other a sky.
I hate both of these teams with the heat of one thousand suns.
Oh no you di'-n't.
Don't want to play Staee tomorrow. They are going to be out for blood.
And you know if we do play them tomorrow, and they win, their entire fanbase will act like the regular season didn't matter.
Unfortunately Wisconsin looks terrible right now, so it's starting to look like a UM/MSU final.
"See what we are like healthy? We would've beaten you healthy"
Good thing those games were actually played. And we won. Both times. I know they'd be annoying but we got the big ten banner that matters already.
I don't know why anyone would fear another game against MSU. Embrace the opportunity as you rarely get a chance to go for 3 wins over your rival in one year. Pull that off and this season is cemented as legendary. MSU would have so much more to lose tomorrow than Michigan. Even if Michigan were to lose, we still would have won the season series, raised a championship banner, and have the best tournament seed of any team in the B1G. If Michigan were to win, apocalypse now in Cedar Village.
Logic and reasoning doesn't work with those Bozos.
Anybody else have shoddy audio on the CBSSports online feed?
MSU is rolling
but Branden Dawson being in there seems to make a difference. Lots of put backs.
Ouch - MSU playing well thus far.
How does Payne get the and 1 on that?
Wisconsin is only 4-18, including 2-7 from three point land. Yuck. That means they are 2-11 from inside, so I suppose this means that Bo Ryan will need to draw up some sort of hex to slow down the Spartans. I sense an appearance of the Rebounding Wraiths at some point if things do not improve for the Badgers.
Schilling and Byrd in? Time for a Wisconsin run... that is if they could make a shot.
Tom Izzo having a conniption
Izzo freaked out there, for naught
Sparty is balling right now. Wisconsin isn't exactly playing great*, but damn.
*Edit: Actally 'Scansin is playing like poo.
3 steps must not be a travel anymore. This game and ours.
keeps playing like this.
We were supposed to be seeing all year. Yikes.
State is hot and I'm worried
WTF? Does that annoying bitch go to every single MSU game?
It's a player's mom. Won't embarass the nice player by naming him.
State is playing good but Wisconsin isn't.
It's sp much more fun when Brust punks other teams at the buzzer.
so they don't get to rest their starters.
Big spurt here by 'Scansin, actually. If they can play a little defense and get this back to 9-12 before half, all is not lost for them.
Guys haven't we watched enough basketball to know this stuff? As long as the lead is around 10 points at half it's absolutely a game.
Payne just trucked a dude hard. If Jordan Morgan were on either end of that play, he would have picked up a foul.
And a run by Sparty here, back up 18. 1:00 left.
Appling carried twice on that fast break
MSU super impressive today - dont think they can shoot better than today, 70% lol
When we beat Sparty the first time, at the Breslin, had the injury bug bitten them yet, or were they at full strength? That was back in January, and I'm not sure what their roster status was, but we won by 5 on their floor . . .
They haven't been healthy all year. When they lost games it was injuries, when they won games it was grit, heart, and coaching.
In answer to your question though, they were definitely without Dawson because he punched a table in
stupidity anger for the first one. I think they were also without Payne in the first.
If this is how Staae plays tomorrow we're going to have our hands full for 40 mins.
Worst I've seen Wisconsin play (outside the NCAA tournament) in a long time.
Scary shit right now.
Wisconsin starting to play like they did during that rough stretch they had at the beginning of the B1G season. If anything this game makes me question how far I'll have them go in my bracket.
With a little luck, Payne will have another altercation with a table. /s
