Been a long wild day and Paterno has just sent me over the edge. I have no idea what coaches in the Big Ten have been thinking, but based on these decisions and their status maybe they won't be making them much longer.
1. Earlier today Zook has a 4th down deep in Ohio St territory down 7 with 4 minutes to go and kicks a FG?!?! So you think it will be easier to stop OSU on a 3 and out, force a punt and then drive the length of the field against OSU than pick up 6 yds? Idiot.
2. Lynch passing up a 4th and short in Mich territory is just beyond comprehension considering our defense and our offense.
3. Paterno down 14 with 4th and 6 near midfield elects to punt...hmm so you haven't scored a td yet but you think you can stuff Iowa, drive down and score then onside and score again in 5 minutes, but you don't want to risk a 4th and 6? Joe Pa was awesome and he probably didn't even make the decision, but just horrible.
4. I can't pinpoint just 1 Brewster debacle on the last drive but it was epic in the fail. That was more a LOL than anything the use of clock and play calling was terrible but they never got a yard so it didn't matter.
I love RR and it worked out but wasting a TO after Hemmingways catch was driving me crazy as well. The clock is stopped for you no need to waste a time out. You wasted a potential play and limited your options had Denard gotten stuffed.
Bad day for Big Ten coaches.
