Big Ten Bowl Games and Odds
Conference Pride on the line as always, I added Nebraska because they will be lumped in when it's all said and done. It's the Big Ten vs. Big 12/Big Ten vs. SEC. I know there has been many post on this but I added the point spread via USA today Odds and Bowl records. Initial thoughts...Vegas hates us.

I am a little surprised by the spread on TCU/Wisc and Fla/PSU. Guess they are expecting Florida to return to form. If I was into betting on these, I would definitely go after the TCU/Wisc.
December 7th, 2010 at 10:39 AM ^
TCU is not in a good spot. Non-AQ versus motivated team. Wisc is not disappointed at being in Rose Bowl.

So you're telling me that we're dogs in all but the OSU game? Gravy.
Also, how the hell is TCU favored over Wisconsin...that's a joke and I'd put some money on the Badgers with that line.
December 7th, 2010 at 10:14 AM ^
These were the two things I was going to say, so +1 to you.
However, based on my luck, this means TCU is the lock of the bowl season and the B10 will fail to cover a majority of those spreads.
December 7th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
I certainly hope your luck changes because my money is now in the hands of Wisconsin winning.
December 7th, 2010 at 12:03 PM ^
Well as of last night - it has not changed. When posed with the question of "who do you like - ravens or pats?" by a buddy of mine - I most certainly chose the Ravens.
December 7th, 2010 at 12:03 PM ^
Ya TCU being favored is a complete surprise. Something tells me that line will be even or maybe Wisconsin -1 by time we get closer to the game. Everyone will be jumping on that line so I'll be anxious to see where the final line of that game ends up.

I used to do a big money pool(w/ Odds) with my Father-in-Law and only seem to lose on the Big Ten match-ups, Dagnam BT glasses. PSU/LSU was great last year for the weather so you never know about northern Florida.
December 7th, 2010 at 9:26 AM ^
Wow, MSU goes 11-1 and their Christmas gift is a pissed off Alabama coached by Satan. I sense their second defeat will go a lot like the first.
December 7th, 2010 at 9:26 AM ^
Realistically, I think PSU and us (OK, and Neb too if you count them yet) are the only ones with a chance of winning.
I don't follow betting/spreads enough to speak to that, however the national media won't care/be speaking of them when they're commenting how "overrated" the BT apparently was this year. It will be bad.
Hope I'm wrong, but we got some really bad draws:
Iowa will be spirit broken & Missou will put up too many pts to keep pace.
Baylor's on the unfortunate side of the Big12 division wise, 3 loses to the 3 best teams in the conf. They'll beat Illinois.
NW - Persa = loss
MSU no chance against Saban
OSU gets BOOM Malletted
and the least confidient pick Wisc loses to the best D they've faced all year in TCU.
As much as it'd suck for the BT, it would be kinda cool if UM were one of the few wins...
December 7th, 2010 at 10:25 AM ^
Wiscy already put up 31 on the best defense they'll face this year.
The best offense that TCU saw (SDSU!) put up 35. I like wiscy in this game.
December 7th, 2010 at 9:32 AM ^
Just hoping that osu gets Mallet bombed so they can keep their loosing streak to the SEC going. Zing!
December 7th, 2010 at 9:37 AM ^
I hope everyone wins and covers - except Sparty. I hope Bama prison-sexes them to the tune of a 40+ point win. I am gonna throw a few bucks down on Wisco +2.5.
December 7th, 2010 at 9:47 AM ^
I even root for OSU (they can win every game but one), but I can never bring myself to root for MSU (fucking parasites). The story line will be good, Blah, blah Nick Saban coached there. Blah, blah Mark Ingram dad played there.
December 7th, 2010 at 9:46 AM ^
First take, I like Iowa, Mich St, Wisco and Northwestern against the Vegas lines
Not sure about the other ones, but I lean MICH, OSU and Baylor
December 7th, 2010 at 9:52 AM ^
I guess when it gets closer and the lines adjust, PSU/UF (last year LSU/PSU) on slop will really hurt UF. Same goes for UM. I guess I'll look to see if it's on natural grass or field turf and edit.
December 7th, 2010 at 10:22 AM ^
Raymond James Stadium (Outback Bowl) has natural grass -- in 2004 it was voted the best turf in the NFL, according to Wikipedia.
EverBank Field (Gator) also is a natural grass field.

If we go 1-7 i can see the headlines now......
....Big Ten Over Rated....

I can see the headlines now......
......Big Ten AMAZING!!@#!@#!@#!$%ONE!!!!11!......
December 7th, 2010 at 10:33 AM ^
i hope so...
Im sick of the media beat down we get when OSU loses to an SEC over and over.
December 7th, 2010 at 11:52 AM ^
Those NC games were 3 and 4 years ago. The b10 won both their BCS games last year. What else do you want? The media "beat down" has subsided considerably. Beating Mississippi State would help further the league progress.

Bielema is indeed a jerk, but since my daughter's a Wisconsin grad (and I shoveled $$$ into their coffers for her) I root for the Badgers except for when they play us. I suppose they'll bill the game as Wisconsin's irresistible offense against TCU's immovable defense.
December 7th, 2010 at 11:57 AM ^
will throw the ball well on UW's D but the TCU d-line is going to get trucked. I believe they avg 260 across the line. WOOF that is going to be a tough day against the UW oline.
Wisco getting points is my #1 bet at this point. I bet that line swings to UW giving 3-5 by gametime.

I have a Daughter at KU and like yourself I was all good with rooting for Kansas since my $$$ was going there...Until Michigan came to Lawrence and played in hoops. I was not expecting a win but something about your baby girl doing Rock-Chalk-Jay-Hawk as they slam dunk over Novack still does not sit right.
Badger fans-never had an issue with them but watching your kid applaud as they do Jump-Jump in the 4th Q-
Not so much.
