the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Why would Brandon or Hoke let Ferns (just a verbal commit) make a big announcement about UM football?
Just expect Ferns to say something like he and Wilton are creating an annual recruiting comp between O and D with the 1st commits as "captains". Fits with Shane and Dymonte pursuing kids last year.
"Everybody wants to be a hero, so to speak. But it takes everybody." - Charles Woodson
I doubt that. I don't think they would really only recruit kids on their side to win that and they wouldn't turn away kids on the other side to keep their lead, so it'd be a worthless competition. That's hardly newsworthy anyways.
"Something like" refers to a concept and not an exact approach. Restated conceptually: some unofficial designation of roles/awards for each class.
Second, do you have a guess?
"Everybody wants to be a hero, so to speak. But it takes everybody." - Charles Woodson
I have no guess. I'm just waiting to see what it is. I was just saying that the concept you were suggesting isn't newsworthy in my opinion and from what we've heard it's pretty cool (not amazing by most accounts but at least worth a small announcement). For the record, I didn't tag your comment as flamebait. I don't know why anyone would think it was.
I hate the off season more than anything in the world....it is 9:30 a.m. and I am anxiously awaiting a tweet release from Michael Ferns...what is wrong with me.
the supreme head butt
Maybe it's an announcement that we're dishing Adidas and going back to Nike! Im pretty sure recruits would dig that
That would at least make sense, since the Adidas contract runs through the 2015 season, and Ferns said it would pertain to current and future recruits. Although Ferns wouldn't be the one to announce something like that.

in response to it's Sparty cup has launched a Michigan cup. The war is on.
tough crowd. I didn't want to ask the question in another thread for fear of being labeled off-topic, so I created a thread about any intel on it. If I knew there was so much criticism out there on this, I would have just kept on knitting.
The Team, The Team, The Team
Your post was fine - you clearly labeled what it was about, so if anyone was uninterested, they didn't have to click. Those that did, and then posted, essentially are saying nothing more than: This is a stupid topic and wasted my valuable time. My time is so valuable that I come on a sports blog in the morning, click on threads that absolutely do not interest me, and then take more of my valuable time to comment on how I don't like the thread, or perhaps even try to post a comical reference that is so clever that only 4 other posters made the same joke.
Personally, I would take this topic over some of the random OT threads.
You didn't explain what you were talking about. Not everyone follows Michael Ferns on Twitter. Next time you should give a little more context about where the story is coming from. "I'm excited about a big surprise" isn't very informative.
"funny" for your knitting comment. Does that help??
I was hoping someone would notice that subtle attempt at humor...if for no other reason but to indicate that I really wasn't taking all this too seriously.
The Team, The Team, The Team
The big news is that Michael Ferns will set a record for the most replies to a thread about "big news". MGoBlog has just been... "Rick Rolled"!
I was driving by Schembechler Hall this morning on the way to work and I saw a man from UPS delivering a big package to the main door. Hmmmmmm.
We're not teaching them about sports, we're teaching them about life!
I hope its a bowling alley!
This might be arrogant, and if it is, it is, but we're Michigan
Was the package in the shape of Urban Meyer's head?

Has anybody read that awesome Jordan article yet?
It's just spectacular.

by all means...hijack my thread. I don't care.

The Team, The Team, The Team
Sorry, I know it's off topic but I really love the article and this thread will be going on for awhile.
Being so defensive is just making it worse. Anyone who starts any sort of OT thread takes at least some abuse. Just let it roll.
I am letting it roll. The gif is sarcasm, a favorite source of humor of mine, and the response to the other guy was to let him know I'm fine with it and that I was just voicing frustration. If I really was being defensive, my response would have been a lot longer and more involved, but I'm just making a statement here. It really isn't a big deal.
See? Now you've got me waxing poetic about it when I really didn't want to. I realize that going on and on and on doesn't improve things. But when someone tells me to "relax" is the precise time that I am not relaxed. So...yeah.
The Team, The Team, The Team
You don't seem so fine with it.
not just "douchey" MGoBlog user, but now TRUSTED MGoBlog user
I never used the word relax. I agree; I hate it when people tell me to relax. It makes me less relaxed.
By let it roll, I meant that you should just cease responding and commenting.
Thanks for linking that article. It's a really great read

Ferns is going to announce that Hoke told him he's going to the NFL and that Gruden will take over as head coach.
