Big House Tour

Submitted by Hail-Storm on

Well, this week is a big week for me.  I turn 30 on Friday, go to the game with my brothers and dad on Saturday, and we all go with my wife on the big house tour on Sunday.

Since there seems to be a void of topics to talk about right now (/s) I thought I'd change things a bit and see if anyone has some advice or just comments about their big house tour experience.  I read that you get to put on pads, run through the tunnel, kick a field goal, and throw a touchdown. Were you able to do this when you went? I bought a football with a T to practice my throws and kicking. I also plan to get the book there and get it signed.

I have to admit, as much as the last three weeks have been painful, I honestly can't wait for this experience.

I did the tour during the UMASS weekend and it was pretty cool. I think the best part was learning a little more about the history of the stadium. Also, after the tour I realized that at that point and time I had made just as many field goals in Michigan Stadium as the actual kickers. I didn't feel so good about that...

It is amazing. The first time you run through the tunnel and hit the field it is a overwhelming experience. Bring a camera and take a lot of pictures. When I went Crisler was open and my friend and I went on to the court and took some pics. I don't think we supposed to be there but oh well. I would encourage any Michigan fan to do the your at least once. The best part is playing on the field. You get about 30 minutes of field time.

I went the day after the UMass game as well and it was an awesome time. Being able to put on the winged helmet was awesome, as was running down the tunnel and out onto the field. Going through the luxury boxes and seeing the Heisman trophies was cool as well. Definately bring a camera, thats for sure. Once you go out onto the field its basically a free for all and you are allowed to do whatever you want. I filled this time with several dunks on the goal post, recreating a bunch of great moments such as throwing a Heisman pose in the endzone/Henne to Manningham/Braylon Show, and kicking a 40 yard field goal which sadly still stands as 3 yards longer than any field goal a Michigan kicker has made this year.

Big House tour was so fun. A lot of it was just being able to say "Guess what I did!!" You get to put on the winged helmet, jersey, and pants, do whatever you want on the field, see the Heisman trophies, etc. My friend, who has never kicked before in his life, hit a 40-yard field goal. It was amazing (but I still stand proudly on my 21-yarder). Have fun!

after the MSU game.  I wasn't in the best mood but the tour picked me up.  We got to meet Jamie Morris.  He was talking about Bo and his experience as a Michigan player.  It was pretty awesome and I got a picture with him.  The tour was awesome and well worth the money.
