Big House Seating Proposal
While this may upset section 1, I am wondering what you guys think of row A being allocated to students. This would force the entire stadium to stand. What say you???
I welcome this, but here is my perspective:
I am in row 2 (aka 4) and I am the first row standing in my section.

that you were going to come up with a more sensible, self-interested explanation along the lines of, "I just want to create an atmosphere in the entire stadium that is so annoying, and so inhospitable to many older, long-time alumni who have better seating priority than I, that they would give up their support for the the team and not renew their season tickets, and I could then move up to better seats, out of my crappy Row 2 seats."

I would love it if the whole stadium stood but the end result of putting students in the bottom row would be angry alumni and decreased donations rather than excited alumni who suddenly embraced standing and made a lot of noise.
Also, students need to be grouped together, much of the fun and energy of being in the student section comes from being surrounded by many students and one old guy who's angry that someone is in his seat.

I actually stand most of the time. Seems like the right thing to do when you are making noise. The clown in front of me Saturday made sarcastic comments about the people choosing to sit during commercials but not during the game. I honestly don't get it.
If there was a standing room only section I would move in a heartbeat. That would be fun and could create a nutty environment like the student section at BB games is becoming.

So you're the guy in row 20 who stands up despite NO ONE in front of him standing up, which then forces the rest of the section to stand up because you want to be the inconsiderate superfan, and then feigns deafness when people politely ask you to sit down?

This is fantastic... that way it does not impact the others who aren't as fanatical as you (cough...cough... and I). Maybe all the corners of the end zones could be standing room only? What do you think Marc?

I like the 4 corners idea. I've got section 6 covered. Now we just need a name for the folks who sit (ahem, stand) in the standing only sections.

Make the student section open seating, like they do in the south. That way people who actually care about football would get there early and be closest to the game.
Drunk people wandering in get relegated to rows 70+. Win win situation.

Honestly, I think that is a GREAT idea. Is there any realistic possibility that it could happen?
