Big House Seating

Submitted by KC Wolve on

I have been to a few games at the Big House and agree that there really aren't too many "bad" seats there.  However, I have never paid as much as I am about to for a ticket (ND).  My previous high was $250 for a corner to the game, Henne and Hart's senior year.  Could someone that knows the stadium well give me some advice?.  With the prices so high, I am not sure where to pick.  I am looking to spend around $250 a piece for 2 together, but would go to $300 if I have to (appears likely).  Should I just grab a corner or should I spend a few extra bucks to get endzone centerish, or around the goal line?  My price range will obviously keep me from anywhere near the middle on the sides, so I am thinking I should just grab a corner as I am not sure it is worth the extra 30-40 a ticket to go middle or sideline.  Also, I can't remember how high the row numbers go up.  I think I would like to be somewhere around the middle (not too low to see the other side of the field, but not too high and far from the field).

Lots of questions I know, but I would appreciate any help.  Have hotel and flight booked, just need the most important things.

Thanks again,

I'd go for around to goal line. My depth perception starts to fail me when the game is 100 yards away and I'm looking at it through the goal posts.

The row numbers end at 97, if I'm not mistaken. Some of the smaller corner sections do not go all the way down to row 1 (let alone A and B) though; they end at 25 or something like that.

I think the corners would be fine.  I have sat in the corners before and they were fine.

It's just a matter of preference.  If you are not wanting to spend a little more, I think you would be fine.

Goal line may be a little low, I prefer to sit higher up.  Again, it's a matter of preference.

I believe in the end zones, the row goes as high as 99.

I think you want to be above row 20, anything above that you can see everything you need to. My season tickets are in the SE corner row 5, its awesome when they are at that goalline but tough to see anything else on the other side.

How are the seats in the 51st row? It'll be my first time at the Big House at the ND game. Is it in the lower half, middle half, higher half?

is where our seats our.  They're in the corner, but if you're up high, it's great.  Honestly, higher corner seats are the better.

How do you insert pictures again?  Whenever I copy and paste pictures now, they don't work.

I remember people begging for it to get colder so it would snow instead of the cold rain. Awful weather.

Thanks for all of the info. I am going to wait a bit and watch prices in hopes of jumping on something decent. If not, I'll shell out for a corner. I am on the spreadsheet if anyone has 2.

Thanks

from first row mid-field to last row corner, and pretty much every section. (except the new ones)

My current favorites (probably influenced by aging eyes) are kind of middling.

Sections 21, 25, 3, 43. between rows 35-55.  I find those sections gives me a good view of the whole field, while concentrating attention in the red zone/goal line.

I like those rows because you are close enough to the field to see/hear, yet up enough to see over people fairly easily as the bowl steepens.

I guess I'm pretty picky.

Those rows are pretty damn popular as well, you'll find a severe shortage of seats in the 35-65 row category on StubHub.

Being at the game is all that matters, believe me.  Not a bad seat...I've sat in about 10 different sections and always enjoyed the game.  Get the cheapest ticket you can, and enjoy the experience.  You're better off spending a little extra on a good parking spot for tailgating.

I got tickets for this game also (4 pair) and all are in 8,9 and 14. In the corners but shouldn't be bad seats at all. The first game I went to I was more that half way up in the corner and the view was really good. Should be a good game and a good crowd. I can't wait.

My prime ticket is in Section 5, 6, or 7 and rows 30-55.  For AAGO talilgating, the SE gates are the smoothest entry into the staduim and the shortest walk to your seats.  Sightlines are awesome, the whole field is in your line of vision so you see every play.  With good binocs, you can watch the UM sideline and see their faces, not their backs like in the West stands.  I scored 2 in Section 5, Row 42 for $225 each back in January.  Looks like a bargain now.  See you Sept 10th!!!

if you're too low it can be hotter depending on the weather, and it's hard to see what's going on when the play is on the other end of the field.  But, down low can be really cool when they're on your end.

Sitting mid-bowl is probably best overall if you have the choice.  Also, if you have a choice, you may want to avoid the SW corner as that's where they often stick a larger block of ND fans.

Good luck and Go Blue!
