big disappointment

as bad as that game was, hearing "old time rock n roll" piped in during the carlos brown forward pass review was the most painful and disappointing part of the whole day. was there a terrible wedding reception going on nearby? that seems like a song a lot of students would really be into (sarcasm) then, as if to make up for it, there was nonsense thud thud techno nonsense.

It reminded me of one of my HS Dances, to be honest....drunk on California Coolers and doing the White Guy bop trying to get HS chicks.

I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I heard Sandstorm being played at the Big House. That is truly a sad occurence. I actually like that song, but there's a time and a place for it, and that time and place is most definitely not the Big House on Saturday.

1. Seven Nation Army needs to be deleted from the playlist. Ohio State has worn it out. 2. Don't Stop Believing is not a song that should be played during a crucial defensive series. 3. Techno sucks. 4. Apache is not a football song. I nearly kicked the people in front of me in the head since they were dancing while the team was losing. 5. Agree on the Old Time Rock and Roll.

I'm pretty sure Ohio State's fans were doing this song a capella at the end of the Penn St. game. They seem to have adopted it as a "fight song" of theirs, and it sounds ridiculous. So, yeah, we should drop it. And the piped in music in general. Seriously, the product on the field right now is bad enough, and the sudden imbibing of Mich Stadium with cheese is like a kick in the belly when we're down.

I couldn't watch the game, and I'm listening to the audio stream online. I'm trying to hear what Beckmann/Brandstatter are saying on this absolutely CRUCIAL point in the game, and I'm like, "Why the FUCK does this have to be played now!?" I'm all for removing piped in music except in obvious situations (1-2 plays a game) where you really need to amp the crowd up.

Do they play Living on a Prayer at every game? Hearing this at any game annoys the hell out of me because people sing along and they're yelling at the top of their lungs - we are not living on a prayer, stop playing the damn song.

I love Motown. Love. Motown. It's my thing. Especially the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell duets. That being said, I died a little inside when they played Ain't No Mountain High Enough. I don't get the point of the piped-in music the way they do it. I hate it to begin with, but I could probably somehow learn to live with it if it even remotely made sense. It's like they're doing it just to try to shove it down our throats, because they somehow think we need it. Why not work with the MMB and the cheerleaders to try to find a way to get the crowd excited without having to bring in this awful music through speakers that just about pierce holes in your eardrums? Also, repeat ad nauseum: Seven Nation Army is played out the nose at both OSU and PSU. MSU has been coming onto the field to Thunderstruck for like 20 years. Since when did Michigan become the Followers and Best?
