From this distance you can't be sure but I think Dymonte Thomas is about as solid as a commit can be. He's already Blue. Once you go Blue you don't go back, unless of course, you are a Boren.
Big day for Hoke today
On a side note Urban Meyer is going into Marlington to pay Michigan 2013 safety commit Dymonte Thomas a visit today. Meyer hasn't had much success pulling away our commits, and I don't believe he will be able to change Thomas' commitment either.
The Beav, Kevin Newsome, Dee Hart, Anthony Fera, D.T. Jones, and Pearlie Graves would like to have a word with you.
Brian Kelly has the last visit.
Dymonte just tweeted:
"He despises a reprobate but honors the Lords loyal followers he makes firm commitments and does not renege on his promise #prov 15:4#go blue"
So I don't think he 's wavering at all.
Stay away from the "dark side" Dymonte. I feel the force is strong with you.
I agree MLaw. He's not jumping the fence.
That or he's already planning on becoming a politician.
Anything is possible with these kids but right now I say he's all blue. It may come down to what kind of season we have and what kind of season tOSU and his cousin have.
On a sidenote...........If any kid was entirely committed, why entertain anymore visits from coaches. I understand wanting to take official visits on campus. You're 17 years old and you get five free trips around the country.....why not. I just don't understand letting these guys into your home if you're not going anywhere.
Potential life-shaping decisions warrant taking in all the available data in my opinion so I don't fault a kid for sitting down with someone like Urban Meyer. Isn't he Dunn's cousin too? There may be some family pressure to "hear him out."
I'll get worried if he schedules an official visit with OSU
Ask pharaoh brown what happens after you commit and take an official somewhere else.
I think this is a reasonable response. Dymonte seemed annoyed that people found out about Urban's visit (though somebody would have noticed Urban there) and Dymonte's beef with OSU was with the previous staff, not the new one.
Hoke will have to keep recruiting Dymonte. Meyer and Dunn will keep recruiting him for the next 54 weeks.
As always, watch what they do, not what they say. If Thomas starts showing up in Columbus as Brionte's guest, start getting a little nervous, even if he says, "I'm just visiting my cousin!"
he was running low on snake oil.
Love that kid.
I don't see him switching with the relationship he has built with the staff and Shane. These two kids seem to be the biggest supporters of what's happening in AA. I see this visit going like the Kalis phone call.
Can a recruit just to a coach "thanks but no thanks" when it comes to a visit? I think Dymonte will stay blue regardless but if I was totally blue, I would tell Urb not to waste his time. Kind of like Kyle Kali's did.
Dymonte has been recruiting others to join him, I doubt he flips. Give Urb credit, he's as bold as they come.
Honestly, it is good for the kid's highschool program, coaches and teammates to have college coaches coming in. He is doing the right thing by meeting with him respectfully.
Beat me to it. Nobody said this was an in home. Even if it is, at least teasing Meyer gives his teammates a chance to be seen by OSU and other schools. Maybe his high school coach asked him to at least entertain Meyer...
Just to be clear, Urban Meyer isn't really visiting Dymonte. He's visiting his high school. He's not allowed to contact him (unless Dymonte contacts him first I believe). Urban is officially there to say hi to the coach and be seen by any potential recruits that may or may not be there .... or something.
Understand, Urban cannot visit juniors. It is a recruiting violation. He can shake his hand and say hello, but that is about it.
If there's a potential violation we need it documented people! Probation violation!!!
Yes, It takes two to tango so if a kid doesnt want to chat then he doesnt need too.
However, as others have stated Urban is visiting the HS and the coach not just visiting to meet with Dymonte.
Mmm wise words indeed. He must have had Yuri Wright's counsel before tweeting that.
Seriously though. Awesome tweet. Respect.
Yuri Wright could take some tweeting advice from Dymonte Thomas.
what a great young man.
Coach Hoke goes to Josh's house for a visit. I hope he doesn't pay him!
Coffee is for Closers.
I like our chances with any recruit that Hoke visits in home.
Please don't begin threads with "Coach Hoke will be paying (X player)" anything. That was a sphincter tightener right there.
I bet when Hoke goes into a recruits house, he makes their entire extended family a delicious feast using the food that's already in their kitchen.
"are those biscuits home made?"
In Hoke I trust!
I don't see Dymonte leaving for Ohio. I remember reading something on him where he said once you give your word then that's it. He gave his word to coach Hoke and that's final...
BOOM! THAT PRETTY MUCH SAYS IT RIGHT THERE . . . YA'ALL!
.. Sure meyer.. Come in and check out my sweet ass michigan bed sheets and bobble heads.. Im sure a recruit like dymonte wants him face to face just so he can remember the kids faces who kicked his ass all over the field!
