Big Chill Seat Location Disappointment

Submitted by michigandadof4 on

Is anyone else disappointed in their Big Chill seat location?

We are season hockey ticket holders and the order information clearly indicated that hockey season ticket holders were to get the 2nd best seating, after players, former players and their families.  Our seats are in section 3, which technically count as sideline, but essentially start at the end line and run beyond the corner.

Still happy to have tickets to the game, but feel slightly mislead.  Where are the season football ticket holders' seats located?

seaction 16 row 55, I'm very happy to get all 12 together they are stacked. However I thought I would have way better seats because I ordered them right away.

Just happy to be going this is going to be so much fun.

I'm thinking this might be a tad difficult with the crowd size being what it is... but if it does come together for some of the more well known chants... whoa!  What a great advertisement for recruiting.

I'm a season ticket holder for hockey who is very happy. I sent in my application immediately.

Section 23 , Row 64.  50 yard line seats in a good row. Didn't want them to be too low for this event.

Yeah mine are pretty bad as well. I ordered them with my season tickets and half expected to get the same seats - however - we ordered 4 tickets instead of two. That's probably what did me in. The tickets I got are in the corner somewhere halfway up. Not horrible but I would imagine it's going to be hard to see a hockey game from them.

Section 40, Row is 40s or 50s someplace.  So, in the corner.  4-year season tickets holders in fball and 2 in bball.  No hockey though.  I hit the "buy" button about 10 seconds after the offer, too.

I'm disappointed but hell yeah I'm still going.

If the rumor is true I'm still a bit pissed hockey moms could buy in lots of 300 and force people who have season tickets into the corners of the endzone.   I bought mine within an hour of the announcement...

I was in the corner endzone of the hockey game up at Camp Randall and it was very hard to see.

I have to agree with this comment.  It will still be a great atmosphere and event, but when I went to the Cold War I was in the second deck tier, and had a really hard time finding the puck.  It turned out to be a great game (4 goals a piece with Miller in the net for them), but I could only tell the score by the pyro technics. I'd just be glad you are going, and not worry about the seats too much.

Might as well ask a question here too, does anyone know if the pep band will be miced?

My seat for the game is the same as my football seat. Section 30 row 92. No way in hell I'll be able to see most of the stuff going on with the puck from there, so I'll probably try to meander down/over to get a better view.

I didnt buy tickets to really watch the hockey game.  If I wanted to watch it I would watch it on TV.  I went to become part of a world record crowd at a hockey game, the festivities, and an excuse to go to the big house in december.  August-check, September-check, October-check, november-check, aaaaaand now,....December-check!

I have also never paid $15 bucks for a ticket, I think the season tickets we have had since I was 2 years old in 1983 were about that much.

I have been a Victors Club member for a long time and the original map had us between the 20's I thought.  Instead we ended up in the corner.

Whatever...it wil be a great time anyway, I can't wait.

completely agree. I am very pissed how the student seating was handled. Originally they were going to have unreserved seating in the student section aka free for all. They were too worried about us camping out ala Paternoville and from a security stand point for the game. I also don't like that the football student section had higher priority over the hockey student section. Completely assbackwards IMO. I have two sets one from football and one from hockey. I will most likely sit wherever the crazies from Yost's section 17 end up.

I also don't like how the students get jipped with the quality of the tickets themselves. We don't get the cool oversized collectible tickets with the laynard.

In hindsight I should have just gone in with the Dekers allotment for the game. Oh well. I do have some connections that could get me ice level for the alumni game or into the club level for the Michigan hockey alumni reception. I am hoping perhaps Cams, JMFJ, Ward, or Komisarek may make an appearance. Ward will most likely be there since he is retired. The others depends upon the NHL schedule.

PS. Good job on the Texas flag at Yost last weekend. My wife and I would have been in section 17 as usual to help with the flag but we ended up staying in W. Lafayette and drinking a crap ton of beer.

so I don't anticipate being able to see too well. I may bring binoculars. and flask binoculars. A few of us complained rather loudly when the football + hockey sections were mixed. They responded by shunting us over to the endzone and having the band play some hockey songs at football games assuming we would teach the ignorant to ride ponies, do moose antlers, and dance, when what they really need to learn is that ICE IS SLIPPERY, the distinction between goalies and sieves, etc.

and I was actually in GR for the Saturday game, I thought we were busting out the new flag Friday.

yeah mine are in sec 33 row 9. My football ones are better in section 30 row 21. There is no point bitching about it now. We just need to suck it up. whatev's.

I didn't go Friday too since I drove down to Indy Friday night to say with my friend before we drove up to lafayette for the football game. I just saw the texas flag from the photos from the game.

correction: thought it was going to be here last Friday, when I was actually at the game. Agreeing to go home to grand rapids with a friend fail.

And I hope I can get my dad in the hockey section with me, what else am I supposed to do with tickets in 2 different sections? He's driving out from NY for his 3rd and 4th games at Yost this weekend and Wisconsin too, so proud.

Hockey season ticket holder, ordered 30 tickets, I'll be in section 22 rows 55, 56, & 57.  Thought I'd be on the 50 as well, but I'm happy they let me buy more than a couple tickets.   I just can't wait for the amazing outdoor hockey atmosphere.

Has anyone heard what side the teams benches will be on? Home or Visitors?

I'm in 14&15 in the south endzone, even with Michigan's football Sideline.   I'm curious if we might be a bit too low - where the glass will sort of block the view?  who knows, they may be terrible, they may be ok.....   for $10/per ticket for 16 of them, it was a no brainer.....

I was at both the Cold War and the game in Madison last year, and I'm convinced the whole outdoor hockey thing isn't as much about actually seeing the game as being a part of the atmosphere.  You're not going to see much, no matter where you're sitting.  Either the action is blocked by the boards or the benches, or it's just too damn far away to pick up anything.

That being said, just excited to be watching this game.  From row 94.

This may be a case of sour grapes but I feel the student season hockey ticket holders are way down the list of people the Athletic Department wanted to cater to for this event. I feel that the football holders are getting a sweet spot for an event that is a unique/niche experience for them. The student season hockey ticket holders got the raw end of the seating deal.
