I know rumors were tossed around earlier, but it appears official word is coming soon.
BHGP: Iowa Football press release soon (suspensions expected)
I'll bet they'd take the short term suspensions to not be in the Leaders or Legends division.
the winning comment was from a guy who had read on twitter that the official word would be coming out at 4:20, and didn't realize the twitter had been a joke until after he posted it.
Stay tuned for the Highsmen Trophy presentation. Coming up next!
that joke's rather blunt
Dude smokes the competition.
to "bowl game."
I got my foot stuck in this pot pulling weeds.
That was a half-baked attempt at a pun.
I just hope they all get put in the joint
try not to blow it
My attempt at humor was merely a pipe dream.
If someone who has been following the BHGP board would summarize the rumors that have been floating around and post it here, I'm sure there are a lot of MGoPoints in it for you.
since a moderator here has already asked us not to participate in rumor-mongering.
Way too many rumors/jokes to even know where to begin to summarize.
i don't know what KOK is
also, if getting his feet lopped off didn't keep parker from coaching, nothing will.
KOK = offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe.
I'm not a smart man, but I do know what KOK is.
Shouldn’t we be getting more of the character flaw yet HIGHLY gifted players? We normally recruit hard-working, yada yada. We could be getting SEC caliber/character players for all this trouble.
snuck over and posted that. It's too good to be theirs.
An idea for another B10 trophy:
In related news, I heard there’s a secret trophy for biggest dissapointment, called the Johnson-Koulianos-Pryor award.
Dig yourself for specifics, but the BHGP folks are expecting something between bad and apocalyptic for Iowa football.
If someone who has been following the BHGP board would summarize the rumors that have been floating around and post it here...
They're kicking around rumors that 12-20 players on the team will be suspended for drug related stuff, but they've been waiting for an anouncement forever and it hasn't come yet.
Would this put Iowa cleanly in the lead for the Fulmer Cup?
Fulmer Cup doesn't begin until the last second expires in the MNC game.
We just need to put our minds to it.
Will they get a second and third chance? These factors must be analyzed to even be under consideration for the Dantonio Cup.
Bonus points are awarded for multiple team offenses. Upon the 4th team arrest, four bonus points are awarded. On the 5th team arrest, 5 bonus points are awarded. 6 points are awarded for the 6th team arrest and so on and so on... This only applies to separate incidences. 5 players arrested at the same party counts as one incident.
Edit: Oops, misread comments. Leaving my fail up for the world to see.
But! Per Spencer's rules, you can also add on style points at the moderator's discretion, so yeah, still supported.
Forgot it was an off-season thing...damn.
no one knows what's going on or what it will be.
So you're saying Iowa, and Kirk Ferentz, are solely to blame for this cluster fuck of division names in the Big 10(12)?
That's clearly RR's fault.
RR has to be the unluckiest son of a bitch alive. Guy can't catch a break.
The rumors have ranged from bad to disasterous here in Iowa. I believe none of them and will wait to see what happens.
Based on absolutely nothing, and not having even read the rumors, here is my completely baseless surmise, derived from nothing other than speculation concerning "what's the worst thing that could be expected to take place in Iowa, of all places":
the state is full of farm animals and corn cobs. any combination of these two is worse than crystal meth. combine the three on google image serach and your eyes will bleed.
explain the general malaise and "quitness" that the Iowa football team showed over the last month of the season.
HIDE YO KIDS, HIDE YO WIFE, CUZ ERRBODY DOIN COCAINE UP IN HERE!!
and they're starting a new thread for the same topic.
Yet across the country, your average ignoramus fan thinks that RR is the one running the bad ship.
Does this have anything to do with Iowa's failure at the end of the season?
When is this alleged press conference / press release actually occurring? Has it happened? You wouldn't know it via ESPN which is Favring all over itself right now.
What a great way to describe the media love of favre
This is from the radio here in Iowa. Ferentz will talk more tomorrow. Seems like it's not as bad as everyone thought. Still not over, though (I think more people are going to be in trouble, FWIW)
Here is a link to the press release. http://thegazette.com/2010/12/13/announcement-from-iowa-jewel-hampton-leaves-hawkeyes-adam-robinson-wont-join-team-at-insight-bowl/
Hampton to transfer Adam Robinson not traveling to bowl game. No mention of drugs.
