Woo for 2008 not making the bad list?
Interesting in that our 2003 season at #47 overall was the only time we showed up. At least we did not show up in their bottom 50 - even in 2008.
Never thought of a season in this way - thoughtful article. Thanks.
Conservative game plans do not get you on this sort of list.
UM in 2008 had a yardage differential of -914 based on 12 game stats from MGoBlue
Michigan | Opponent | |
---|---|---|
Rushing | 1771 | 1643 |
Passing | 1718 | 2760 |
Total | 3489 | 4403 |
To make this list of bottom fifty, you would have to be pretty bad on both sides of the ball. UM had decent run game (Thanks, Brandon Minor) and half decent defense in 2008.
we can thank Brandon Minor enough!
Those look fairly similar to my Annar Rankings. The only difference is I take into account strength of opponents offenses and defenses. I also keep track of rushing and passing separately so I can break it down into 4 categories (rush off, rush def, pass off, pass def). It's not the greatest system for ranking teams best from worst but it's interesting to look at some of the stats.
