The Best is Yet to Come

Submitted by Gino on

When really stepping back and looking the entirety and magnitude of attention and ire spewed at Rodriguez from across the college football world, I have possibly had a major revelation, that it is one of two things.....

1. It is a collective lynching by the populace who view and associate the nation's winningest and (up to now) cleanest program to rid itself of what they percieve as an infidel.

-OR- (and more likely)

2. It all is a precursor, a subconscious payback by those across the land, to offset the future fury his team will display on a national stage.  They know that Rodriguez is no plain Jane, that he is the goods, and they wish they had him but don't.

Ponder this....  Why would this hatred-filled lava cease to spew, even for a moment ?

I gotta think it is reason 2, for it cannot be the 1st simply because this flow hasn't even had as much of a hiccup, with the pedal to the floor since hired. Normally, if reason 1 was the case, this flow would have ceased somewhat after two horrendous seasons at 8-16, when the team has been irrelevant and largely  uncompetitive. However, this ire toward Rodriguez has not let up even a tad..

There are too many subtle signs that our program is on the verge of arriving in a big, big way in the national realm, and join the likes of Alabama, Florida, and LSU, much the way AD Martin planned.  And I view the neverending stream of hatred geared at Rodriguez, the biggest sign of all.

The Best is Yet to Come.

I agree the best is yet to come. But other than that I have no idea what you're talking about.

If, in point 1, we are trying to rid ourselves of an "infidel" who is destroying our winning program and clean history, then why is this point no longer valid? Since Rich Rod has come here, he has:

1. Presided over the first "major" [stretching] violations in Michigan FB history.

2. Gone 8-16, a far cry from Lloyd Carr's 75% winning percentage.

Now, I am a full supporter of Coach Rod, but if someone were in the 1st camp to begin with I don't see why the pressure on him would let up even remotely given the two facts above.

Mr. Gino, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

many, many moments like this. Sometimes it doesn't all quite add up. Alcohol may or may not play a role.

Either way, in a show of brotherly, comradely solidarity I want to say: I do believe things are going to get better, and see a lot of encouraging signs.
