Best Way to Buy Road Game Tickets?

Submitted by SixWingedAngel on

I apologize if this is posted somewhere else, but a friend of mine is looking to get tickets to the UConn game and I was wondering if any of you know of any good ways to get your hands on road game tickets.

Best way is to go to universities website. Get face pricing & availability. Then shop against market, IE: eBay/stub hub/etc.. You'll see what's a good price & see the stadium seating chart. I just did this for the UofM/Northwestern game with great success. GoBlue & Goodluck

I don't think there will be any more tickets available for this game from the UM AD, not sure about the UConn AD. I'll be travelling from Cali to this game as well (staying in Boston). Although this will reportedly be the biggest college football game in the history of Connecticut I doubt there will be a huge turnout from UConn fans and tickets will be available from scalpers before the game or after kick-off. There was a thread about a month ago about this game and a UM fan that lives in Connecticut estimated tickets would be available.

The 2 UConn grads that I know have admitted to going to Rentschler but never being inside if that belies any of your fears. Tailgate only apparently. Stubhub is your best bet right now if you don't want to chance it.

It might be worth checking out Scorebig.com. They've been advertised on a lot of podcasts I listen to and, after a few minutes on the site, I found some pretty good deals.

My apologies for getting completely off topic, but could someone with enough points create a thread about Trey Burke and the Jazz playing at the Palace on Friday, January 17th.  I assume a lot of UM fans will want to be at that game.

Apologies for being too lazy to post your Trey Burke thread, and also for going off-topic from your already off-topic threadjacking, but could someone clever enough exlpain to me the "meaning" of the "Bandwagon 89" MGoShirt?  Obviously it relates to the 89 MBB NCAA title, but generally I think of bandwagon as a bad thing.  I had a hunch it was related to Steve Fisher, but Google only turned up the page for the shirt itself.  I assume a lot of UM fans will want to know the answer to this.

Your interpretation makes sense, and perhaps I was digging too deep for some specific use of the term.  It's appropriate for me, as that was just about when my brain began its Michigan myelination.  I lost some Maize and Blue matter up there during the down years, but never stopped supporting the program.  Proud to be part of the 89 Bandwagon.

I bought Purdue away tickets from stubhub.  Were a very good price for watching Michigan football and good seats.  Maybe save a few bucks looking at craigslist but the risk is not worth it imo

Scalpers and such will always be selling but then you must know where to walk to find them if you are at a certain spot.  I prefer to have tickets in hand on way to an away game.

I just now bought tickets via the UCONN athletic website. You have to buy the three pack and pick two other games to get tickets for that you will never use.

Nosebleed seats but it worked out to less than stubhub because fees were less.

When I called the Michigan ticket office I was told that all the away game tickets will be purchased by U of M season ticket holders.  I am looking for 3 tickets for the game at Penn State and the Penn State ticket office has a limited number left for the Michigan game, but if you want to buy Michigan tickets, you also have to purchase the same number of tickets for the PSU/Eastern Michigan game.  If anyone has three seats together for the Penn State game, I am interested.

and bought the tickets from the official Univeristy (MGoBlue) site, face value. We were in the nosebleeds, and it was cold as all hell, but it was worth it to see Coach Hoke in short sleeves.

I've always had good luck with scalpers prior to kickoff... Slight risk you might not get into the game, though.

I've obtained tickets to road games in a variety of ways: UM AD, other team's AD, StubHub, scalping, and given to me by family.  It really is going to depend on the game.

As others have said, for games like @ Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota it was incredibly easy to use their AD promotions and get tickets for as little as $10 in some cases.  For something like Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame I have had to rely on getting tickets from people who are far more important than me and donate lots of money to UM.

A quick glance at StubHub shows $130 for the UConn game...not sure that I would pay that much.  Of course it is up to you depending on how far you are traveling and if you want to take a chance at scalping.  Good luck!

I live 8 miles from Renschler Field. To get tickets to the Michigan Game I bought a 3 game package. I have tickets to Michigan, Rutgers, and Maryland. Go B1G.

Heads up -- I just called up the guys who run the Duffy's (a Michigan bar in Chicago) package trip to the Northwestern game.  They are trying to sort out the tailgating situation, and the guy said he would call me when they start selling the packages.

My recollection from two years ago:  $100 got you a ticket, a bus ride from Duffy's to the tailgate venue in Evanston, booze and food, and a bus ride back to Duffy's.  We had an awesome time, but I'm easy to please when it comes to beer, Michigan football and, well, anything.

I will keep the MGoBliterati apprised when the packages go on sale.
