Best Thing about wearing M apparell

Submitted by jb5O4 on
Today I was walking around Boulder, CO where I now live. I was wearing a Michigan jacket and I hear a Go Blue from behind me. A much older gentlemen had shown his school spirit. We got to talkng about our experience going to Michigan, him the Class of '54 me the class of '09. I found it amazing that whether you talk to a grad of long ago or a recent one, the story is the same. The feeling of going to your first Michigan game, studying in the law library when you're not a law student, walking across the diag, the smell on campus as fall arrives. I'll have to keep wearing my M gear to have more encounters like these.

I live in Ohio.  For me the best thing about wearing my Michigan gear is knowing that everyone I encounter would sort of like to say something to my face but i'm 6'5" and weigh about 245 so they just nod their head and say shit under their breath behind my back.

A few years ago I was in Columbutt on business and went to Lifetime Fitness for a workout wearing all Michigan gear.  There was one guy who I swear had smoke coming out of his ears.  He was seething as he followed me from station to station and then into the lockerroom.

The problem for him was, I'm 6'3" 240 and he was about 5'10".  All I could do was laugh at him.

I'm 5'11' and 210, and live in Dayton, and they usually say something just loud enough I can hear and understand them... it's actually kinda funny, because I'm not intimidating looking at all (glasses usually do that)... Maybe it's the gear that's intimidating.

EDIT: wait, what do I mean maybe... of course it is

Cleveland area. Over Thanksgiving break (the night before the game) I went to the movies sporting my Denard jersey. They wouldn't accept my Mcard and said I would have to pay for an adult ticket. I was about to blow up, but instead decided to calmly ask the employee where she went to school. She was a senior in high school and had not been accepted into OSU, but planned on transferring there after a semester elsewhere, or some bullshit like that.

At that point, I realized it wasn't worth my time so I paid full price. However, I made sure to forewarn her that she ought to start respecting Michigan if she ever wants a good relationship with future employers.

I knew OSU fans had issues when a middle-aged man was throwing a water bottle from his car at a 12 year-old boy in his Michigan shirt (me). And that's what's best about wearing Michigan gear in Ohio: Just wearing an article of clothing can cause a substantially older person to act like an immature, insecure jackass.

The best thing about M apparell? It makes you look like a doush bag. Do you want to know the story thats the same? That all you Michigan alums think you went to an Ivy League school and all you did was get into a mediocer public school in the midwest.

Quiz: When was the last time Michigan was 10-1 before a bowl game?

Answer: Way long ago!

Honestly, seems more like he's 12 due to the lameness of that supposed "joke"...  parents probably went to MSU.  He obviously doesn't remember the 2006 season.  Probably still suckling his mother's (or cow?) teat if I guess correctly.

It hasn't been a long time at all. Michigan was 11-1 for the 2007 Rose Bowl.  And 11-0 before the 1998 Rose Bowl.

Looking at MSU, it's been since the 1966 Rose Bowl since MSU had a 10-0 record.  Keep dreaming "cool troll".

Haha. Dude.

Wow. I have never experienced a MSU english/history dual major student. I didn't even know students at MSU had double majors. Let it be known that you money will be well spent once you break the final round of Smarter Than a 5th Grader.

No one said anything but Michigan being an Ivy League school....except you. I appreciate your backhanded compliment for Michigan.

You have all the correct letters, so it looks more like a typo than a spelling error. Were you typing fast, so you wouldn't get caught? I would guess you are not supposed to use the computer while you are cleaning the office.

post.  What a mess.  I am a tax payer in the state of Michigan.  I will have to call for an investigation of this loser.  He cant be a product of Michigan public schools.

My guess is that he is a Ohio native.  I wonder if he can spell his own name??

Quiz: When was the last time Michigan was 10-1 before a bowl game?

Answer: Way long ago!

You mean just a few years ago when #2 UM played #1 OSU?  4 years must seem like a long time when thats been half of your life, so I understand.

Also to answer why our gear is makes us so good looking is the colors.

Maize: It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.

Blue: It is often associated with depth and stability.

Obviously you haven't taken Elementary Math 121 nor it's prereq: Counting 111.  Others have pointed out the obvious lack of basic spelling.

I bet you're one of those Sparty fans who has to count the number of days since Michigan last beat State.  AMIRITE?

You have to make that stat seem more impressive by converting it into days.  Talk to me when it reaches 6 years (we won't talk about Spartan Bob breaking up an 8 year winning streak).  That's 2190 days in Sparty talk.

Or, by wearing the apparel we know on news stations that you are not only a hero for rescuing a burned pilot from a crashed plane, but that you're also a Michigan Man! Gary Cox at 0:20 in the video, sporting a Michigan shirt hidden underneath the jacket, but I can tell, b/c it's got the infamous "CHIG" that I also see where the "MI" and "AN" get obscurred

a Go Blue bomb on someone at my apartment complex the other day. I was sporting the winged wheel and he had a Michigan jacket on. Hard to believe, an acknowledgement of hockey and Michigan at one time in Alabama!
