Best place to watch Michigan Football in Edmonton?

Submitted by SuperWolverine40 on

I just recently moved to Edmonton for graduate school, and I was wondering if anyone knew of good places to catch Michigan football games in Edmonton?

As of right now the first game isn't on regular cable or satellite in Alberta. When FSN1 bought out Speed channel they where supposed to be on air here but TSN and Rogers Sportsnet pissed and moaned and I guess they where sorta banned. TSN has 5 channels and Sportsnet atleast 3, they do show lots of college ball though. As of now 3 of the 5 TSN channels are showing the same shitty CFL game and not one the Utah game!

Instead of starting a new thread, I figured I'd just throw this out there and see if anybody can help me out. My family and I are moving from San Diego to Cincinnati for the next three years and I'm looking for a place to watch games with the good guys. Any ideas? Also, I have a Michigan decal sticker and a license plate frame on my car. Am I going to run the risk of my car getting repeatedly vandalized over the next three years? I just want to know how hostile of a situation I'm getting myself and the family into with this move....

MGoBoard tab that shows one in Cinci.  I am not sure how up to date it is though.  You can always check with the local Alumni association, but from past experience here in AZ those bars can skew a bit older.

Sorry - none showing in Edmonton...maybe time for the OP to start one and have it added to the map/list.

Cinci is not a very big buckeye town, even the year after at national championship, I wouldn't sweat it, in fact I see more and more all the time. Avoid bengals fans though - disgusting.

The Michigan alumni group has a very active spirit club with watching parties for every game and other volunteer activities. You don't have to be alumni either, they are a good group.

Anyone have info on a Michigan bar in Honolulu, which opens at 6am for college football live? Just moved here, and my other alternative is to watch it from home. I've been asking around and I've heard there is a Buckeye bar on the island...

If you can't find it, some options to watch it yourself include:

Slingbox

US-based VPN service and stream FS1 on FoxSportsGo using login information from friend/family who has FS1 in their cable/satellite package

Those streams referenced by Squeezebox above.

For other games, google tells me that Schanks and Hudsons are good. Also:

I'm flying in to Edmonton Thursday and I'm on a mission to watch the game. I called Schanks and they said they get their TV line up same day and to call back. If you get any information please post. Thanks
