In 1967 John Lennon and Paul McCartney were asked who their favorite American artist was, and they said "Harry Nilsson". The interviewer asked them who their favorite American band was, and they paused and said ... "Nilsson".
Such an amazing voice, and such a gifted songwriter ... .

with everything you posted regarding Harry Nilsson. Lennon and McCartney chose well in naming their favorite American artist and American band, too.
Anyone here not familiar with the catalog of songs and albums performed and/or written by Harry Nilsson? You're depriving yourself of some really great music that I just wouldn't catalog as 60's and 70's stuff. He wrote some timeless classics, some of it for himself and his great albums, some for other performers, some for movie soundtracks/television.
Nilsson, IMO, is truly one of the most underrated and underappreciated musical artists in our lifetimes.

Why don't we instead express how we really feel here on MGoBlog?
(Warning: NSFW, you might want to turn it down at work or around little ones if not familiar with the lyrics)

things like beer and cigarette commercials, motorola products, stuff like that. dad used to do the weekly boxing matches (thursday night fights, maybe) that were broadcast coast to coast. well known jingles like 'what'll you have...pabst blue ribbon' (you have to know the tune) and stroh's beer commercials. behind my desk i've got a big picture of him from the freep from like in 1958, holding a mug of stroh's beer with him saying (in print) 'stroh's bohemian style beer, the only fire-brewed beer in america'.
he and mom were newly weds and young family at the time. he said that was how he was able to pay for things like furniture because a check would show up for his royalties. to a young newlywed that was a big deal.

The Sith Incursion in this thread was beaten back, at least for the time being. I can only assume the server that MGoBlog currently inhabits has been occasionally intercepting Imperial transmissions and posting them in threads. I could be way off in this theory though.
(for those unaware, an out-of-place Star Wars post - more of an excerpt from a blog thread - found its way here)

And now it's been removed so newcomers have no idea what you are talking about. But yeah, that was weird.

He'll be learning from Wheatley, who formerly coached running backs in the NFL, and would still be doing so if not for Harbaugh. Coach Jackson was awesome with the quoteables, but...
December 29th, 2015 at 9:52 PM ^
Uh ... how old are you and how long have you been watching Michigan football?
Fred Jackson coached quite a few great backs for Michigan.
Hopefully, young Mr. Walker will be a nice addition. Hard for any RB to do well with sub-par blocking up front... whether they're coached by Wheatley, Jackson, or whomever.
People here were merciless towards Coach Funk, but our line this year under Drevno did not appreciably improve its run blocking. Yet, people here seemingly give him a pass. Perhaps its the players and not the coaches to a large extent...

A lot of the people saying Walker isn't that good and is overrated are salty tOSU fans who were calling him a future Heisman winner when he was committed to them, and Sparties who are jealous because they still can't land a recruit of his caliber even after all the success they've had.
