Hear me out… They should definitely go to through the legal system and serve jail time. Once that is done, they should be given a second chance to play football and be a student somewhere. Being a student- athlete probably gives them a better chance of doing something positively with their lives. If they never get a second chance, they are more likely to just turn to even worse crimes and it will be worse for society as a whole. Maybe this guy did not present his argument very clearly, but I think he has a point. Some young people grow up in tough circumstances and do very stupid things, but they should still eventually get a chance to redeem themselves.

These kids should not still have FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIPS.... give them to three other kids who possibly come from "rough situations" and help them to do something positive.... I'm thinking a full ride scholarship to play in the SEC is a pretty big enough second chance for these three kids to lead good lives.... these kids, and these kids alone, made the choice to do something completely idiotic...

I am not suggesting they get a full scholarship or any other special treatment. I’m just saying it might be reasonable to think they can play college football again somewhere and hopefully they can turn their lives around. Perhaps we should not just totally dismiss Zickefoose’s point of view, because sometimes taking the long view and giving people second chances can be a good thing for everyone.

When Rick Shroeder on Silver Spoons finally got to meet his pop star idol and instead of being nice to Ricky, this singer is a total dick...Ricky is heart broken and goes home to tear the poster off his wall. Whats that? Not similar at all? OK I see your point

...is not that these football players performed an armed robbery or that the victim doesnt want them to be kicked off the team. The dumbest part is what the hell were those players thinking when they decided that the hillbilly driving a 1998 Hyundai Elantra was probably carrying a good amount of dough? That stupidity enough should be grounds for dismissal.

"Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?" 6 News asked. "Yeah, it's Tennessee. That's the way it is sometimes," Zickefoose said. Picture the typical halftime commercial put on by the competing institutions... it's always a montage of earnest, bright-faced students in chemistry class, sun-dappled quadrangles with throngs of young people striding purposefully to their calculus mid-terms, tearful sick kids in the hospital gazing worshipfully up at the offensive linemen doing charitable visits... now followed by hooded gunmen wearing UT garb holding up idiot convenience store customers. "The University of Tennessee...that's the way it is sometimes." (to strains of Rocky Top)

Not everybody is the perfect person in the world, everyone does - kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me. I just feel that people need to give these Vols a chance.

He said the incident wasn't part of a drug deal? Why would he have to say that? If this was part of a drug deal it might make sense. If he presses charges and they set something up, he's taking some heat as well.
