Best A2 Bar to Watch Night Games?

Submitted by MGoJeff on

So, I'm from Columbus and am coming up with some of my boys for the Sparty game.  Coming Friday, leaving Sunday.  What do you guys think is the best spot on campus to catch the night football games that actually has audible game sound, and not music blasting through the speakers?

Thanks!

You ask me to go to a sticky that is the exact opposite of what I'm looking for.

The sticky mentions friendly bars OUTSIDE Ann Arbor. I am looking for a bar on campus that plays the sound and not music.  I'm coming from Columbus and want to watch some games and hang out with a UM crowd.  It was a pretty specific request, if you read it.

Ease up.  The map in the sticky includes Ann Arbor bars too.

If you want sound, I suggest some place like the Arena.

At Scorekeepers, you might  have a shot until 10. It's kind of a big weekend, and they may get over run with requests to switch to music.

You might even want to venture slightly off campus to some place like Damons (If it even exists any more).

There's a Buffalo Wild Wings right on State Street as well. You may also want to consider Rick's on South U. but Its a party bar. Touchdown's is a good bet as well (South U.) although its a shit-hole. Players tend to go there. Scorekeepers is fun but pretty young so i'll let you determine if you'd look like a perve. Best of luck... AA is a nice place.

Arena is great for day games. Big screens plus several of the booths have personal tvs with their own volume and channel controls. I've not gone to watch night games though so can't tell you when the juke box will start up.

The Arena does do live bands a lot, though (and set the band up where the booths and huge TV is).  If there is a band, you wouldn't be able to hear the game, but there are still a ton of TVs.  I'm not sure what nights it has bands play.

I'd suggest the Arena (if no bands), BWW, Arbor Brewing Company, Bar Louie (I'm not sure if they play sound, though) or a place farther away (Guy Hollerins, Damon's).

I'd do Ashley's.  Not a sports bar by any means but the game will be on, and there isn't a bar that you've been to that has a better beer selection.
