Bertuzzi is ON FIRE

44 is getting it done for the Wings this season with 12 goals. In 7 games Bertuzzi has had 8 goals and tonight he showed no sign of stopping against the visiting Jackets. Bertuzzi scored on a power play in the second to tie the game up then in the third he broke the tie to give the Wings the 2-1 victory and continue the unbeaten streak against the struggling Cbj and Monday night he'll be looking to do it again! I'm looking forward to seeing him and our Wings dominate again in Nationwide. How about Darren Helm?! He does it all skate, pass, shoot and score but he does another thing too...GOALTENDING. Helm kept the Wings ahead by 1 by making an amazing save on a bouncing puck from the stick of Umberger from going into the net just as it touched the surface of the goaline. Helm's save was also in Sportscenter's top 10! Wings win and break a three game losing streak. Columbus continues to slump losing now 4 straight. Columbus is currently 0-6 against the Wings since post season in the 2009 playoffs.

You can neg me, that's fine, but the guy put another guys head into the ice. If you did something like that you would go to jail, and doing it in a hockey game is no different. I just think it's sad the Red Wings had to pick him up. I would rather roll the dice with a young gun, then bring him back.

There is something to be said for someone who makes a mistake and works hard to erase it I understand that his transgression is one of the worst things that has ever occurred in the history of sports (IMO), however I can relate to messing up and working hard to get cleaned up. Happy to see this goon doing great things for the winged wheel, just gotta stick it out til we get healthy and no doubt cup contenders

I'd be lying if I said I was rooting against him, he's a Wing right now and the healthiest most productive one at that. That being said, I was pretty vocal about how despicable his assault was, so it still feels pretty weird cheering for him. It feels like we're using a mercenary to stay afloat til the rest of the team gets out of the hospital. Hopefully this is over soon.

always had excellent skills for a big man...great hands, skates well. While I agree that his cheap shot to Steve Moore was heinous, but he paid the price (Literally!) by losing out on millions of dollars in contracts that never came.

I'm really surprised by how Well Bert has played the last month. I thought that he was a complete waste of a sweater when the Red Wings picked him up, and I'm really glad that I'm wrong about that. He is almost singlehandedly keeping the Red Wings out of last place and in the playoff hunt. He is playing like he did in '02-'03 when he scored 46 goals. Everything is going in and he is loaded with confidence. I love his quick release. If the puck comes to him with a chance to score it's gone towards the net almost instantly. It reminds me of how Ray Shepard used to play when he was a Red Wing. Babcock has found lightning in a bottle with the top line. Now we need Franzen, Cleary, and Zetterberg back, and we'll have a terrific second line as well. Just hang in there in 8th or 9th place until February, guys.
