Well, Morris can potentially redshirt his sophomore season still assuming Gardner doesn't declare early.  It may not affect Shane's long term status at all.

You don't announce or necessarily decide on redshirts at the beginning of the season. Morris will play if he's needed. If he isn't, it makes sense to preserve a possible redshirt. At this point, nobody knows where Morris will be on the depth chart in 2014.

12 Devin Gardner QB 6-4 210 RS Jr. Detroit, MI
6 Brian Cleary QB 6-3 199 RS Fr. Detroit, MI
13 Alex Swieca QB 6-1 210 RS So. New York, NY
15 Shaun Austin QB 6-1 204 RS Fr. Plymouth, MI

There are more than 2 QBs on the roster. Give the walkons a chance to show something. Would be a thrill for them.

Plus as shown below, Gorgeous is high on Cleary.

They still tackled in the scrimmages. The only difference between a game and a scrimmage is the format and it has an actual game feel.

It's not like scrimmages are flag football.

Sorry to hear for many reasons.  Bellomy- wishing you a speedy recovery.  Keep your head up.

Shane, you better be working your ass off now, preparing both physically and mentally, because after DG, you're it!

do i just not pay enough attention to msu and osu off season? because i don't much ever hear of them suffering acl's during practice like we seem to.  or have they suffered a few as well the last few years?

Serious things should not happen on April 1st. First I got sad, then I got suspicious, then I felt foolish, then reason kicked in and I got sad again. Should have just stayed sad. Getting sad twice sucks.

That man who figures out how to prevent this injury is going to make a lot of money.

I feel really bad for Bellomy, but it's hard to bring me down from this Final Four high.

This author may disagree but she doesn't do so convincingly:

Merely stating other partial explanations for the pay gap does not automatically imply that discrimination is not a cause as well, that would be faulty logic.

The author pays lipservice to the idea that women are socialized into lower paying jobs but doesn't go on to consider the gendering of labor itself, or how some jobs (nursing and teaching as two examples) are culturally considered to be "women's work" and have been historically undercompensated.  This is not to mention the completely unpaid labor of child rearing and homemaking.  Men are increasingly contributing in these areas but the majority of this work is still done by women.

Finally, she doesn't mention at all the fact that women are found far less often than men in high level management roles and generally have less power in the workplace.

Things are definitely getting better for working women, but progress is not instantaneous and there is definitely a ways to go.

Discussing the need to protect ACLs in a thread about our player injuring his ACL.

Then it went off the rail when people took an innocent generic turn of phrase into a sexist crime setting back the women's movement to the 1950's. then there were some truly sexist remarks made, tongue-in-cheek, do to the overly serious nature taken.
