Thing that kills me about the "he cant recruit" mob is they'll slob all over Derrick Walton in the next breath lol. Then complain about how he doesn't recruit good bigs right before they talk about how good Dj Wilson & Moe Wagner are. Fans are more clueless than they realize and that's why we pay Warde Manuel a shit ton of money to make these decisions.

Considering that he has said as much in various interviews in the last couple years, I would tend to agree with that sentiment, and he should finish his career here. As many things as we can point out, as difficult as this season was to stomach at a few points, he would eventually leave this program in infinitely better shape than when he first came upon it.

Read his lips as the buzzer sounds.  His first thought is how proud he is of his boys.  Great man.  I have been critical.  I was significantly with error.

So I'm wondering if the Cards are a top 3 defense in the country? I cant remember all the things I've been reading but Michigan barely got any open looks from down town. Great thing that their bigs choked down the stretch. LMAO Muhahahah!

Anyone else notice how he has really throttled down on the auto bench? He trusted wagner and Walton w 3 for awhile there. Really damn important in today's outcome and seems like not the first time this year he's been more flexible

is I net if we nose dived after the OSU game and everyone called for his head we would've hired Crean per Harbaughs request.

I always like Beilein, I was fine with our bubble odds annually with some tournament runs that he gives us.

but maybe it doesn't matter when guys like Wilson and Wagner develop like they have this year. It's an amazing transformation

I think its as ridiculous to make these comments when they win as is it is to call for his head when they dont.

One thing I've noticed with JB on this run is how much more fire he has.  Even in 2013 when we went to the Champ he was never this fired up.  Now he's yelling at refs, bringing squirt guns to the postgame celebrations, and just overall giving off a spark that I've never seen from him, it's been awesome to watch.

good people. Happy this run is happening for Beilein. Obviously a good guy who is most happy for his kids. He's also done a good job in game during this stretch. Definitely out coached Pitino today

On a serious note, many (myself included) thought maybe he had struck gold with one particular group of guys.   Also the lack of capitalizing on that run in the recruiting game was frustrating.  As was a team that as we see now has a lot of talent seemingly forgeting defense is half the game for a good portion of this year - there were no injuries or inexperience to explain that away.  Losing at home to our hated rival - which was very down this year -  with the talent you see that we now have is almost inexplainable now.

With that said, the worm turned, and now we have a "second cycle" of success if you will so that some (which again I'll raise my hand) who were worried our success was due to a "one off" cluster of NBA players coming in at one time, so that refutes that argument.  And makes those of us who felt that way much more sanguine.

When you see something repeated with another crew of players it makes you feel like there is a pattern rather than a one off.

I don't think anyone ever disliked this man, or what he stands for.  I still remember him sitting in the NBA green room all night hoping Jordan Morgan would get drafted!  Among countless other things.

Dude is locked in for life now and whaetever happens in Nov/Dec/Jan of other years you can now feel good about eventual outcomes in Feb/March.  And we just have to live with the idea we are not getting into the dirty game of recruiting and need to spend more time waiting on development.

I think the exception was Chatman not panning out, settling for Doyle, McGary finding the ganja and having Horford leave early.

I think Beilein does great when he has consistency in player development. the sudden losses and a backup plan that didn't pan out caused a dip. I don't expect that again (god forbid Wilson and Wagner go pro this year)

There is no Michigan coach, football or basketball, I've liked as much as Beilein. I know it's sacrilege but Bo wasn't the kind of schematic wizard I love. Harbaugh is fantastic but I prefer the low-key decency of Coach B. The team's struggles last season and earlier this season were wrenching, as I hated to see him go through that, and I did wonder if he had lost his mojo. But I didn't think so. I thought he would find a way to get back on top if he was given enough time. Turns out he didn't need that much time at all. I am so happy for him, and for the kids he's brought to Michigan. He is an example of everything that's good about college sports, and for this when to come against Pitino makes it all the more satisfying.

Would anyone be ok with that? I see him having the foresight not to tarnish what he's accomplished. He schooled Pitino in the second half of this game and Pitino said his players didn't execute mentally in the post-game. I thought it rediculous that people wanted Beileins head earlier in the season. He doesn't recruit like Calipari but he recruits for his system. M basketball has never been in better hands. They're playing within the system and executing beautifully. Be glad we aren't switching coaches after a few years again.

This should be a slam dunk for recruits, who want to come here. Also for the ones are considering Michigan.  Beilien is another choo choo Mother Friggin coach. I hope he stays till he retires. Give that man a raise!
