Anyone else notice that in the postgame interview Beilein referred to the Buckeyes as Ohio? Not sure if this is a new development or not, but either way it was great to see. Especially after knocking them off.

C'mon man...
that for a while now.
You know he's been doing that for a while, right? Like, it's reached man-goes-to-moon status by now. Even the announcer at Crisler said Ohio.
and I really want to know why this game isn't all over sportscenter now... This was an instant classic.
Because Ohio lost duh....
Not new. Still awesome.
Awesome, but not create a new thread awesome.
meh, there have been far worse threads started. and its slightly topical as well.
"how about we create whatever thread pops into our head and cover the whole sideboard with random shit" but we uh...just beat a top ten OSU team. If there's a time for exuberance, this is it.
Maybe a snowflake, but such things slide after a win.
Yeah he had been doing this for awhile off and on. Go Blue!
Better yet, he's also copied Hoke's habit of never losing at home.
Well, Purdue happened. =(
That Purdue game kept us from the outright Big Ten Title :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
Not this season. (I mean, there was a Purdue game, but we won by 15.) 14-0 at Crisler this year.
DIE OHIO DIE
it's German, for "The Ohio, The"
No one who speaks German could be an evil man....
Die by my hand. I creep across the land, killing firstborn man.
Honestly, I think Beilein has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.
Are the jerseys selling like hotcakes perchance?
You knew this would make me laugh and you threw it right up here on the pos bang thread! Thanks.
Awesome. Thanks for this. I didn't notice it when he started doing it last year - I also never noticed it when Kim Barnes Arico did it too. r when Red did it. And the golf coach, the baseball coach, the softball coach, the field hockey, rowing, janitorial staff, the staff at the Ross Executive Residence, the guys who trim lawns and shovel snow................
I don't see why this is a big deal. They call themselves Ohio.
I did think it was humorous.
In the mid 1990s OSU sued Ohio University for the marketing rights with the noun, "Ohio".
/ drops mic
that was last year...we just beat ohio
It's not a derogatory jab at Ohio University, it's just how you guys have referred to yourselves before. Or is the name "Ohio Stadium" and Scirpt Ohio just you guys being ironic?
showed them how to do it to learn to spell Ohio. Now you want them to try for Ohio State? I think that is pushing things.
Why do you guys call yourseslves ohio then? Ohio Stadium. O-H-I-O chant. Your band dots the i in Ohio not ohio state..... So until you guys start calling yourselves ohio state, how bout you lay off.
as this thread. Thanks for the well wishes and watch the the double tap!
Thanks for reinforcing the stereotype of Buckeye fans being semi-literate knobs.
Please continue to stay on top of these new developments.
hoke explained this all last year.
the ohio in franklin county with the criminals for players and cheating coaches whose followers struggle to spell "o-h-etc" is ohio.
the ohio in appalachia is bobcats.
Let's just relax and be happy.
Go Blue!
Do you think he was confused with the Bobcats and OSU. That Beilien always messing things up. /s
Really c'mon.
if you're the kind of Buckeye that doesn't use "SCum" and the like, you'll probably do at least okay around here (although you probably know that if you've read threads in the past). Welcome to the MGoBlog.
I always found scUM to be the absolute least insulting thing ever. I mean, who even says that? Has anyone seriously called someone "scum" in the last like fifty years? It just seems stupid to have that as your go-to insult in my opinion.
Our saying "Ohio" is exactly the same as your saying "that school up north", which we actually don't mind in the slightest (btw it took me forever to figure out that that's what "ttun" means on OSU blogs lol). It's just a jab at a rival, and not even a big jab at that. I agree with you that neither fan base should take either one seriously. scUM on the other hand, I still think that's just dumb and it's probably the equivalent of a Michigan fan saying hairless nuts.
It's seriously something I would've found hilarious in elementary school but you'll always see trolls and RCMBers dropping that like they just unleashed the worlds most devastating insult. I really dont get why they think it's so clever.
We call them Ohio because fuck Ohio.
"He used to lay out a belt, a stick, and a wrench and say 'choose'"
"Well, I'd have to go with the belt there champ"
"Naw, I used to pick the wrench"
"The wrench? Why?"
"Because Fuck Ohio, that's why"
He did, I seent him
I told my pops the same thing right after I heard coach say it. Glad someone else caught it and was as proud as I was. GO BLUE!
Maybe Indiana can steal that too.
I graduated from Ohio University but have been a lifelong M fan. Growing up in Columbus and currently living there, I know the whole "Ohio" thing royally pisses Buckeye fans off. Personally I have no gripes with calling OSU Ohio, as long as elicits a reaction, which it does.
I think the only way to top that is if you had a little brother that went to Michigan State!
This isn't new, but what is new (atleast from what I have noticed) is the announcement system using it. The PA guy called them "Ohio" and the B1G standings display did also. It'd be neat if the whole university did it.
Happy birthday Coach!
Happy birthday Coach!
You know we also have this thing called a WHEEL, supposedly it will make the drag cart easier to push.
Me and you?
So Beilein calls us Ohio State when Michigan loses but calls us Ohio when Michigan wins, come on make up your mind, lol! I don't mind the entire "Ohio or OHIO" name because we do chant it and there are other selective names people use to describe Michigan that I shall not use out of respect for Michigan. However, I will say that I appreciate the bloggers on MgoBlog that uses the correct name. Kinda wish fans of both teams would just drop the clever appellations for both team and state who they are.
I don't think its a big deal. I kinda like that both teams have a quirky name for their rival, it adds to The Game.
Like the University of Ohio State? I got your back man!
Sorry, but this Ohio thing is so lame, especially as there is actually an Ohio.
Great win tonight, wish Hardaway would have taken the last shit as he was on a ridiculous run. I understand why Coach B set it up for Burke, but the smart call was Hardaway.
I don't mind coaches saying Ohio especially Hoke because it started way back when he was an assistant.
And maybe Burke took the last shit because he needed to more. Maybe Hardaway had shit already.
Lol sorry I had to do it
I particularly like it because the RCMB is blowing up about it right now. "Arrogance!" "Cheaters!" "They actually lost to Ohio last March!"
By the way, hey guys. Thanks for stopping by.
...Ohio St., Ohio, and MSU, clearly Spartan fans are the most butthurt over the Ohio thing.
I was watching the game with my cousin that's a pretty level headed buckeye fan and he was extremely irritated by the Ohio reference. He also said Brady Hoke is "such an ass" towards OSU. I never knew that bothered some people so much, but it's really entertaining.
I heard Dicky V refer to Nik has more than just a shooter. Finally the world is catching on!
