Beep beep Watch out for Lane Kiffin. . .

. . backtracking. Time to cash that check UT. I bet it bounces. "Florida is obviously a great program," he said. "We've lost by a combined 64 points the last two years. They are the No.1 team in the country, the most talented team in the country, maybe the most talented team ever to play, so it's a big challenge for us. It's our first year, and our first SEC game together, so we understand that there is a long-term plan here." http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/10080144/Kiffin-should-stop-mouthing…

Poor decision. If he'd have kept up his arrogant comments people would think he's just trying to fire everyone up. This makes him look like more of an idiot. Can't wait to see Florida go buckwild on them.

I honestly hope Urban Meyer hangs 70+ on his ass. All he has done is talk-talk-talk and has yet to walk-the-walk. If there is something that I absolutely hate, it's trash talkers and people who talk themselves up. I can't wait to watch the game.

I hope the Fightin' Creamsicles pull off the upset for two reasons: 1) to quiet, at least temporarily, the Tebow hype, and 2) to ensure that Kiffin and his antics get as big a stage as possible (a high profile win will provide that stage). By the way, I agree with you about the "talk the talk, walk the walk" types; however, it has made it a bit difficult to watch Cissoko so far.

the only other game I watch this weekend. It ought to be interesting. I do agree that he should have kept talking sh*t though. If you are going to fire the cannons, keep firing them til the fight is done.

Say what you want about Lane Kiffin, but uh Monte Kiffin is his defensive coordinator as he has possibly the best defensive player in college football. Florida will probably win and quite handily, but I don't think for one second are they going to run up the score quite like that unless it's from turnovers where Carlos Dunlap destroys Crompton.

I'm not sure why we all laughed at Spurrier and his "Can't spell Citrus without UT" shit for years, but Kiffin comes in and suddenly everyone is offended he shoots his mouth off.

By the time he said that. OTOH, Kiffin talked first, saved the minor details (you know, like, winning games) for later. Funny thing was, Spurrier and Fulmer were pals... they talked on the phone regularly. I'm sure Fulmer sent his fair share of barbs the other way... granted it was through a phone line instead of a press conference.

I can't speak for everybody, but I laughed at that particular line because it was witty, and it infuriated Vols fans (and I'm sure Fulmer), but there was not a whole lot they could do about it. Spurrier owned the SEC at UF. 99% of coachspeak is predictable cliche. Spurrier was/is a bit of arrogant ass, but at least a funny ass. I'm pretty indifferent to Kiffin. He acutally had a couple of good lines at SEC media days. Obviously he's had some WTF moments (why would you want to piss off Meyer and UF with the talent they have this year, having to play them in Gainsville?), but this game would not be on anyone's radar if he hadn't said anything, so I'm thankful he did (as I'm sure CBS is, or whoever is carrying the game). Recall in 07 when Jim Harbaugh said a few things about Pete Carroll ("this is his last year at SC") and USC ("could be the greatest team ever")? USC fans couldn't wait for the Trojans to hang 70 on the Cardinal in the Collesium. But that didn't go so well. Not that I expect Tennessee to pull off that kind of upset Saturday, but stranger things have happened.

This game should be a blowout of epic proportions. Meyer has a history of answering actions like Kiffin's with lots and lots of points. In a game like this, Meyer would throw a pass off a reverse with a 40-point lead and one minute left. I expect Florida to keep the "pedal to the metal" for a full 60 minutes against Tennessee. Then, in the presser, he won't say he ran the score up, but will make one very subtle comment that indicates he did.

I don't really agree with everything Lane Kiffin has done since being hired at UT, but at the same time I kind of like it. He has pulled some good recruits and I think could MAYBE turn them around. As much as I like Tebow (although he's over-exposed) I despise Urban Meyer. ESPECIALLY after the Stonum recruitment saga. I think Florida will blow them out, but after Tebow's gone and the defense is in the pro's I think Kiffin could beat them in the future.

I hope when UF is up by 50 Tebow walks over to Kiffin on the sidelines and takes off his shoulder pads displaying a shirt to which Kiffin respods, "hey that's my wife!" And Tebow says, "and that's me!" A la Doug Remer in Baseketball. If anyone could do it, Tebow could.
