Been gone and need some help. Re: Kyle Kalis
I have been out of the loop so to say over the last 2 weeks as I've had to help take care of my grandfather who passed away a few days ago. During this time I haven't really been on line much I know I missed a lot. I went back a few pages on here to catch up some. I saw that the Olineman from OSU commited to Michigan sometime last week,and it seems like from other post that the kid has taken some heat. Some of the links for some reason wasnt working but I was wondering what kind of crap this poor kid has been getting? It sounds like its been pretty bad but is it all just message board crap or has he been getting it in his day to day life? This kind of shit just drives me crazy and sorry if I missed the post about it. Thanks for any help or info.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather man. It's been a busy couple of weeks. Kalis said in an ESPN article that he has had ""constant stress and anxiety" from the community about his decision but he didn't give any specific examples.

Basically all over Bucknuts and other OSU fan sites, they've been ripping the kid apart ever since he decommited, and now that he commited to Michigan, they're saying he's a traitor with no class and wishing him to tear his ACL. There have also been more public "threats," although I doubt anyone would dare say anything to a 6'5 305 monster.
The high school season in Ohio could be ugly for Kalis, and he'll probably get a lot of trash for switching to Michigan.
To expand on what you said, isn't it funny how someone can sit at his keyboard and threaten someone who could probably turn three of him into whimpering whelps in about ten seconds? Gotta love those classy Bucknuts...
Kyle Kalis committed to Michigan. Bucknuts and ElevenWarriors exploded with hate for a recruit that they now consider to be in ESPNu bottom 50. He is actively trying to get other OSU commits to decommit and head north for a safer haven. Espn has this to say about him.
Also, Jarrod Wilso committed. A ball hawking safety from Ohio, the first true safety we've seen in awhile. Read what Tim feels about him here.
OSU forfeitted all their games from 2010. It was the least they could do. They also waived Tressel's 250k fine, and gave him a retirement package. theres no question the rivalry is on full swing. Kyle will love heading to the shoe his first year where we will take down the bucks
While nasty things were said about Boren when he famously turn-coated, some of it was out of response for him specifically attacking the program...IE family values, etc. However, I don't recall people wishing for him to get injured or him being harrassed in the community. Worst personal repercussions for him were probably no more free pizza or burgers in Ann Arbor.
Kalis is a mere high school kid looking for the best opportunity for himself on the field and in the classroom. He never said anything negative about OSU, simply that he doesn't want to be punished for transgressions that occurred when he was not on the team.
It's one thing to be passionate, and another to be radical, like wishing injury on a kid who hasn't even played a down of college football. I guess that is the difference between SEC and OSU type fans and Michigan and Notre Dame type fans.....that tiny little thing known as perspective.

There's a couple of those kind of threads over at tRCMB, too. One of the funniest posts was something like, "I agree. WE'RE the ones coming off a Big Ten championship season, and WE'RE the ones who can promise more stability with a better environment. But somehow, THEY'RE the ones getting recruits? I bet $omething mu$t be happening"
Riiiight, because the only way Michigan can outrecruit Sparty is to cheat..
...but real. I live in East Lansing...work across the street from the campus....and all the Sparty slappies are nervous. B1G. Time. I get that money comment constantly when I bring up Hoke the positive momentum he is generating. I'm telling you. They know. They know their time is done. And that the universe will return to normal.
You read their comments and they have not one shred of credible evidence that Hoke has ever done any negative recruiting. It all comes across as them trying to block out the obvious truth of why we're kicking their asses in recruiting right now - their flagrant cheating has resulted in shooting their own foot several times. H.S. players today are smart (unlike TSIO fans). They can evaluate programs and separate out the facts from the smoke/mirrors and make intelligent decisions on which school is best for them. And TSIO's years of shady, win-at-all-costs behavior has finally caught up with them. Even though they'll try, they can't point fingers at anyone else but themselves. Can't wait to kick their butts in the Big House this November!

in 2-4 years from now every time we play OSU it gets personal for him and he lets it all out! Nowonder kids from that state wanna get out now,hell after all this you would think a lot of younger players would see how Herbie got ran out and now the recruits are too. Was flipping through channels last night and came across this show called Wall To Wall Sports. It was on WBNS-TV out of Columbus. These jackoffs on there we're ripping Kalis up. Saying that he's a loser and won't amount to anything in Ann Arbor. And enjoy losing to them for the next 4 or 5 years. These are probably the same assholes that praised and worshiped him when he was committed there. I hope that Kyle saw that and uses it as motivation as he turns all the OSU d-linemen into pancakes. So me and my dad are making fun of the shirt when the guy working the shop asked what was so funny? I said they made a shirt thanking a man that just destroyed their program and turned them into a laughing stock. I said you do know most of these records on here are going to be vacated right? He said he didnt care and love coach for the best 10 years in school history! My dad said so win at all cost huh? you dont care about class or respect or winning the right way? The guy said nope,win at all cost! The wins is all that matters!! lol we just laughed at him and left.
