Beaver: Hackett taking a run at Harbaugh through the 49ers

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

longtime user Paly33 posted this in the thread below this one.

Don't want to start a new thread for this but over on Scout board, (GBW writer Tom) Beaver claims that one of his sources has a friend close to SF situation that Hackett will be making a major move for JH "through the 49ers". It would be bigger than what we would've thought was possible.

Earlier today Bovada realeased prop bet odds on who the next coach would be.  They usually keep them up until insiders are aware an agreement is imminent or the water becomes too murky.  They kept the odds up for like 10 hours today then closed all betting.  What I take from it is something is in the works and they took the bet down to prevent insiders who know the outcome of making money.  The odds it stopped at were harbaugh 3:1 Miles 9:2 etc... the report coupled with the betting being closed could mean something... who knows though

If true, then it seems that hackett is truly putting in the work and willing to go big to get harbaugh...which I am extremely happy about.

This has to have been in the works for at least a couple weeks, no way is Hoke gone without an understanding of who is seriously available. Much like a company who is making management changes, they have already reached out to possible replacements to gauge interest before the current person is gone. The biggest indicator to me is JH's flat out silence in his press conference. No denial, no comment, no nothing. Can't lie if you don't say anything at all. If this happens, I am going to be one happy son of a bitch!

I thought that during the last coaching search...and we ended up with hoke. I truly thought that we weren't going to fire RR unless we had a slam dunk coach like harbaugh last time, and it just wasn't the case. Hackett had to fire hoke, even if he didn't have anyone line up.

Harbaugh agrees to become Michigan's coach after the season. SanFran goes on a playoff run and they win the Super Bowl. Harbaugh fulfill's his need to win a NFL championship. He comes to Michigan with the added cache as Super Bowl champion. Harbaugh places Super Bowl ring on recruit's kitchen tables.

I - and all of you - should remain skeptical of all this rumoring until there is ink on paper. We lap up all the pro-Harbaugh rumors and ignore an anti- rumors. We generate an echo chamber on the board where good stuff is posbang'd and bad stuff is negbanged and dismissed and they were are all shocked when the anti- stuff happens.

Not saying Harbaugh isn't coming....but we're so far from that being fact. Guard yourself

Dont dog brandon. if you paid close attention to his initial press conference he tipped off his miffness at Harbaugh wanting to go to the challenging nfl. Was very apparent he offered him but was miffed

If true, it's Hackett basically telling the Niners "How would you like to get out ahead of the game of chicken that would ensue with other NFL teams at the end of the year, and ensure that Jim Harbaugh won't haunt you elsewhere next year." And maybe we'd throw in some cash as a sweetener to them when Jim signs, which I think is legal. Remember, Harbaugh can nix any trade and holds all the leverage. I know the Niners want compensation but that gets more and more dicey as time goes on and they risk him going elsewhere in the NFC for little compensation and kicking their ass for the next 5 years. Very smart strategy by Hackett if true. But I hope everyone realizes the last year's salary/buyout isn't a factor either way. Any big coaching contract like that will have offset language and I'm pretty sure Harbaugh will be employed next year.

That they're precluded from trading him and we're able to talk about a Harbaugh hire as soon as the 49ers are eliminated from the playoffs in the event they are for some sum of money?

Stephen Ross has damaging video of Jed York sniffing cocaine off the ass of Miley Cyrus on his lap. Ross is demanding York fire Harbaugh immediately or he'll release the footage to the media.

Jed York is the CEO of the 49ers because his unlce & godfather is Eddie DeBartolo Jr (the co-Owner). He's a ND grad, but hasn't really worked in anything outside of being groomed to be the 49ers president.

The co-Owner of the team is Gideon Yu, who was (among other impressive things) the CFO at Youtube. Youtube is owned by Google, which was co-founded by our boy, Larry Page. Hackett has to know Page. Therefore:

Hackett -> Page -> Yu -> Harbaugh. All Michigan business connections. Book it.
