Beautiful ND Schadenfreude is Beautiful
I was on ND's Rivals board and saw this piece of schadenfreude that was just too good not to share. Enjoy:
I want everyone's honest answer.
If I were to tell you the following would happen under Kelly before he was hired, how many of you would have actually wanted to hire him.
He would lose ten games through two seasons.
He would oversee multiple player arrests during his first two and half seasons which would range from DUI to drug possession to assaulting a police officer.
His first three recruiting classes would finish #14, #10, and #20.
Of the total allowable allotment of scholarship players to offer during his first three years of 75, he would sign only 63 players, with two of those players being specialists.
Of those 63 players, six would no longer with the team (including the best player he has signed)which would bring his player total to 57 players over three years or an average of only 19 per year. Six players below what the average allotment would be.
Of those 57 players, 31 players would be rated three stars or lower and only five players would finish ranked in the Rivals top100.
Also contained in those classes would be 11 defensive backs, with only two players rated a four star and none in the Rivals top100....
I'll post the rest of that post down below as a comment.
Click on the link below and read through the thread. There's a couple more lengthy posts from the same guy. Other ND fans on that board accuse him of not being a ND fan and he goes off on them. Pure gold.

Good point about the dead airtime. I just listened to the clip without watching. Criqui gives absolutely no indication of where the ball is after it's caught, other than to say "Michigan's going to score."
Ring dem bells!
Every single time I hear him say Denard is a "poor thrower", I just get so excited that his whole world is going to come crashing down in mere minutes.
In 2 years, Denard has:
938 Total Yards
8 TD
3 INT
Tommy Rees is a poor thrower you sonuvabitch
LOL this post is gold.
I took that picture
of the day!!!!!! I had a good laugh - thank you
i don't know why ive never seen the vid with his voice over. that is like, mainling freebased schade. "THERE"S A PENALTY FLAG!! No, it's a TD. It amounts 80 yards in three plays." Pure unadulterated awesomeness that almost makes me forget michael westrook. almost.
It did make you forget to capitalize.
This is the best little clip of Michigan vs ND ever! Incomplete....wait....touchdown. And then the crying starts! I laugh everytime I see this! God love 'em.
Go Blue!
It never gets old.
"Incomplete....but wait, touchdown".
Had to watch that clip again. The nd tears are still delicious, even after 7 months.
being unable to read a weather forecast that warns of high winds
some pretty good stuff, though i think he didn't give the purple face enough love.
I just skimmed down to the video.
I am curious about de-pants. Maybe he is the missing link in the gold pants saga.
de-pants. Another coach LITERALLY ran over to the ND sideline while Kelly was screaming at Tommy Rees and he just like, pulled Kelly's pants down. It was weird, man.
Someone needs to make a T-shirt with that quote and the ref's arms up in the air. Simply delicious.
Anyone who reads this and is not entertained is kidding themselves. Kelly has done an aweful job at ND, no way around it. Chuck recruited very well before him leaving Kelly with the opportunity to come in and do well right away, but he has not. His one signature win was beating USC in a tsunami where they were a wide open dropped pass away from winning the game.
Anyone who does not like this post needs to step back and remember how much they hate Notre Dame.
Well I guess you don't see how Kelly is truly building them back up. In fact, I'm impressed in the recruiting job he has done, and has taken many guys slated to OSU or M.
Two straight 5 loss seasons which include a home loss to mighty tulsa.
He's doing a marvelous job.
Ah, the rare mid-offseason schadenfreude... Something to tide us over until the season starts and teams actually start losing again.
is he their rich rod?
No, he's not their "Rich Rod," but with a few more arrests, he could be their Urban Meyer.
Pretty accurate take on Dantonio too.
What's really fun is to watch the non sequitur and ad hominem responses. The poster of the OP keeps challenging others to refute his points with facts. Finally, someone with the handle Irish Blooded and with nearly 6,000 posts rises to the challenge with this doozy of a post:

....perchance make signs for a living?
"Promonant" - nice effort there
"..more in football THEN you have." Common error among the illiterates but still makes me LOL.
"He really doesn't give I would imagine about your opinion.
" = PRICELESS!At some point, Schadenfreude turns to pity. We're not there yet, but it's getting close.
Pity you say? Not a chance, let them burn...
I thought you were Viper back in the day? No?
Ha you thought I was serious?
Agree.
Will never get enough of watching ND writhe in agony. Curb-stompings by Harbaugh, Navy running for a billion yards against them with back-to-back away wins in South Bend. Especially Tate then Denard x 2 in 4th quarter comebacks...the last few years of ND agony was the only thing that tided me through the RichRod years.
The fourth quarter comebacks have been awesome, but I gotta say, the stress is getting to me. I get a knot in my stomach just thinking of the next ND meeting. I don't think I can go through it again. I want a substantial lead from the beginning this year.
I have trouble watching the games as I am totally exhausted by the end.
Just hold on for one more year. If we have another 4th Quarter comeback, in South Bend, I think everyone associated with ND might just explode
I do have to admit that the pleasure I get from my ND friend's hopes getting up and then being dashed is quite immense. I always watch the game with her, or at the very least we are texting each other the whole time. But I think I would be just as happy with her being miserable the whole game. Plus, then she wouldn't be able to talk shit about how Michigan didn't really win, ND just lost and such.
"Don't shoot 'em! Let 'em burn."
i feel bad :/
Did not realize their recruiting had been that bad
Not really sure why this guy is putting a negative spin on all of this. Personally I am loving the shit out of it.
And he is also indirectly (or directly depending on who you ask) involved in the deaths on two student non-athletes. Yea... Brian Kelly is not the greatest of humans.
It's so fun watching them wallow in their mediocrity.
snorkeler, and morally ruderless human being. ND screwed up in hiring him and you can't bet half the monied alumni base is praying for a losing season so he doesn't hang on for over. This could be his last season in South Bend.
based on common usage. it's now a noun as well and applies to their postings. glad to help out.
