Fuck state, hate those bastards, one of these years we'll finally turn the table on them, and it will be glorious. You and I know it's gonna be Michigan again, Michigan.

I had my way with a little Sparty intern once.  Really sweet girl.

Win or lose, I always get to think about that on Sparty week.

Don't bother giving me a Pos bang.  I already had it.

I'm thankful that I live 2000 miles away and there are very few Sparties out here.  In fact the locals don't really know who MSU is.  I can't imagine living in Michigan nowadays.  When I grew up it was Michigan domination.  We will get back to the top again.

That being said posbang for everyone.

Agreed, I'm only 500 miles away and after only being here for a year, I've seen or met almost 100 UM alums and just 1 MSU fan, and it's only because his wife went there. No one around here knows what Michigan State is, and the only MSU they know is Mississippi State.

When I was a kid we beat state becuase that was what was normal in the world. They were our Washington Generals. And the only time they won it seemed it was due to some malfeasance. Then we'd win for the next few years and all would be good. I NEVER EVER expected to see a time they'd win three games in a row let alone dominate us like they have. The world is crazy.

MSU is definitely beatable, and if this game was at home I'd like Michigan's chances quite a bit more.  But it's a rivalry game, so who knows.

Purdue nearly beat them, and I don't anyone would call them a quality team.

MSU is an above-average team people still think is last year's squad because they housed EMU and their offense looks good.  But 2013 MSU would have eaten this Sparty team's lunch.

Before every game like this for the past 7 years I have rationalized how we could win: "they're underestimating us," "they're looking beatable," "maybe they will all get the flu."  But not anymore.

Football deities, I beseech thee:  May We Earn A Win the Old-Fashioned Way!  Where We Go And Just Win.  They Play Their Best.  We Play Better.

Just win!  Please win.  Do it for me ..... Daddy Frieze.

Just thinking the same, however that was very early in his regime, beating Wisconsin wasn't too big of a deal then because we had just had 2006 not long ago. It feels like forever since we've beaten anybody we weren't supposed to.

sole goal was to ruin our season. I don't like being on this side of things, but a win Saturday would be the first step on the way back. I wouldn't mind seeing their playoff hopes dashed either. Go Blue!

Sadly we are going to get killed. I have no confidence that Hoke could out coach Dantonio in anything. I miss the good ole days when football at Michigan meant something other than a footnote on someones joke.

Very late into this thread so I'll have to send good vibes my own way. I will be in East Lansing per me being in grad school there and not having too much of a choice. I will still wear maize and blue no matter the verbal abuse I take from hammered, middle-aged people (may be writing from experience there).

I have this cousin. I love the guy, we're practically the same age, but ugh, fucking Sparty fan. Now, that wouldn't really be that big of a deal, if it weren't for the fact that growing up the guy hated ALL sports and even into our 20s he'd roll his eyes when the rest of us started watching football when we'd be out at the bar. Then he moves out west, Peyton Manning gets traded to the Broncos, and all of a sudden he's on the bandwagon. It wasn't that annoying when he was just an NFL fan, maybe slight jealousy as a Lions fan watching him automatically getting to be the fan of a contender while I've waited my turn my whole life. No, it wasn't a problem until he decided to give college football a look, too. Our entire family is Michigan fans, several alums. His wife whom he started dating in 2007 (albeit knew her long before that) is a non-graduate MSU fan. The deciding factor? MSU is better for the first time since well before either of our lives began. I've been a football fan since the late 1980s, he hadn't watched a snap of college football prior to 2012, and now I have to hear his shit every year. And this year he's flying home for the weekend and expects to hang out. Family, yes, but it's gonna take all I have to not lay his ass out by the end of the fucking day. So dreading this goddamn weekend.

I don't know any State fans down here in Texas, although I'm sure there are some. A few of my wife's relatives went to State, and one in particular always calls when they win to sing their  fight song. I don't answer, but she leaves it as a voicemail.

I would love it if the Maize and Blue win for many reasons, but none moreso than I won't have to hear that piss poor excuse of a fight song. Let The Victors ring forth!
